Job Description

Eden Prairie Girls Basketball Association is looking to hire a Coaching & Player Development Director for our program. This person is responsible for developing and overseeing our basketball programming for grades K-8, including both the In-House and Travel programs. They will oversee and develop EPGBA players through preseason & off-season clinics and participation in team practices and games. The Director is also responsible for actively training and evaluating coaches in the EPGBA programs and will play a key part in the travel try-out process. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Overall Program:

• Conduct player development clinics during preseason (Travel- September, In House- November).
• Conduct coaches clinics utilizing EPGBA player development guidelines (Travel- October, In House- November).
• Attend, observe, and participate in practices and games, work with Coaches to ensure they are following EPGBA player development guidelines and support them as needed.
• Support and promote EPGBA\'s basketball philosophies in regard to coach and player development. Work closely with EPHS Girls Varsity Coach and the Board to promote consistency and continuity between EPGBA and Eden Prairie High School Girls basketball programs.
• Participate in the development of the Spring and Summer training programs.

In-House Program:

• Develop and provide In-House coaches with weekly practice plans utilizing EPGBA player development guidelines.

Travel Program:

• Participate in Travel try-outs as outlined in Travel Tryout policy.
• Report to VP of Travel and President on coach\xe2\x80\x99s evaluation/progress in November, January, and March.

Required Qualifications:

• Basketball experience, either coaching and/or being a former player
• Ability to communicate with players, parents and coaches effectively
• Knowledge of the game of basketball, rules and fundamentals
• Ability to teach and motivate players to develop specific basketball and relationship skills

Time Commitment: approximately 200 hours, August \xe2\x80\x93 July with the majority of hours being August-February on nights & weekends. Job Type: Contract Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour Schedule:
