POSITION SUMMARY

The Resort Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining visually appealing outdoor spaces along the Guest Experience Trail. This includes but not limited to mowing, trimming, weeding, sweeping, pest and weed control measures, trash removal and special repair projects as directed. This position will offer the right candidate an opportunity to train on and operate small equipment and machinery including compact loaders, mowers, ATVs, trucks, and trailers. A valid driver\'s license, free of any major violations is required. This is a full time, seasonal position in the Resort Appearance department with the possibility of year-round flex status for qualified candidates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Maintain visually appealing resort grounds.
• Daily operational setup/support.
• Mowing, trimming, edging, weeding of green spaces along the GES trail as directed by Supervisors.
• Safe operation and maintenance of heavy equipment/machinery/vehicles.
• Assist with gardening, watering, special landscape projects.
• Special event support, required to work some nights weekends and holidays.
• Indoor custodial support.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

Experience: Prior landscaping experience and/or guest service experience preferred but not required. This position may require on job training.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Positive Attitude
• Eye for detail
• Ability to work both independently and/or as a member of a team
• Ability to work weekends and holidays, flexible hours
• Ability to work outside in harsh weather conditions
• Valid Driver\'s license, must be a Stratton approved driver
• Ability to tow and maneuver large trailers

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Mountain Environment:

• The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...
• The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
