The Dover School District is seeking a special educator to lead a program for students with social-emotional/behavioral needs at Dover Middle School Support program with tasks and initiatives related to improving the quality of programming and instruction for students with social-emotional/behavioral needs. Work collaboratively with school staff to facilitate open communication with all levels of administrationProgramming support for students with social-emotional/behavioral needs in all continuums of supportAssist para-educators in collection, assessment and interpretation of data in order to design appropriate individualized instruction for students with social-emotional/behavioral needsAssist para-educators in using interventions and evidenced based strategies for students with social-emotional/behavioral needsKnowledge of behavioral interventions for students with social-emotional/behavioral needsProvide classroom teachers resources for students with social-emotional/behavioral needs. Provide specially designed academic instructionComplete academic evaluationsParticipate in required meeting and trainingsRequirementsProven ability to work effectively with/for children and adults in a multi-cultural community.Empathetic to the needs of young people and adults in the area of special needs.
