The Dover School District is seeking a special educator to lead a program for students with Autism that focuses on competence, engagement and communication. Support program with tasks and initiatives related to improving the quality of programming and instruction for students with Autism. Work collaboratively with school staff to facilitate open communication with all level of administrationProgramming Support for students with Autism in all continuums of supportAssist para-educators in collection, assessment and interpretation data in order to design appropriate individualized instruction for students with AutismAssist para-educators in using interventions and evidenced based strategies for students with AutismKnowledge of behavioral interventions for students with AutismProvide teachers resources for students with Autism. Facilitate professional development, based on Autism, that is ongoing, deeply embedded in teachers classroom work with students, specific to grade levels, content that is age and ability level appropriate and research based practicesOversee Autism Strategic Plan and trainings that accompaniesOversee Autism Support Intervention Services TeamParticipate in required meeting and trainingsRequirementsProven ability to work effectively with/for children and adults in a multi-cultural community.Empathetic to the needs of young people and adults in the area of special needs.
