Special EducatorDistrict-wideThis unique position combines direct instruction for students eligible for special education who attend independent schools, collaboration with families and independent school personnel, and mentoring/coaching opportunities for special education staff. We are seeking an experienced special educator who has the ability to plan and deliver direct instruction to students, work collaboratively with team members, and complete evaluations for students enrolled in independent, residential, and home-school programs. These responsibilities are combined with mentoring and coaching special educators within the district. Mentoring will include guidance for instructional practices and special education procedures and regulations.
VT Special Educator endorsement is required. This position is designed to follow the traditional school year calendar with 15 additional work days. Rutland is a unique community in both its location and spirit, offering people all the amenities of a city while minutes away from the heart of the Green Mountains. We are only fifteen minutes from the Appalachian and Long Trail, twenty minutes from Killington Ski Resort, and in close proximity to many other recreational opportunities.A complete application includes a cover letter, resume, transcripts, three CURRENT letters of reference, and proof of licensure.
