Job Description


Our client, a dynamic marketing company in MD, has an opening for a Sr. Specialist to work as a key member of the Digital Media team. The ideal candidate will develop and execute marketing that increases member engagement and drives participation. The incumbent collaborates closely with various staff and agencies to define member experiences in a consistent brand voice and with recognizable visuals. The projects lead by the incumbent are expected to result in improved business value, greater scale, and improved efficiency.

This position develops and executes marketing that increases member engagement and drives participation.

Support the Engagement Framework Member Segments: Closely collaborates with managers and other departments to define thoughtful engagement experiences which results in members deepening their involvement with the company. Such projects are expected to include (but not limited to):

  • Member onboarding
  • Potential member and unengaged member segment engagement
  • Field-based promotions and materials to support company Ambassadors.
  • Regular outreach to affiliate leaders relating to company products and services.
  • Exhibiting at the RA and other major state events.
  • Experiences that drive membership recruitment
The Senior Marketing Specialist will incorporate an array of digital channels, printed materials, website experiences, and/or presentations within the projects. Leads the implementation of the defined projects with cross-sectional teams, ensuring that everyone understands their roles, responsibilities, task dependencies, and deadlines. Leverages previously developed journey roadmaps, successful product campaigns, and existing content where possible. Ensures the resulting engagement is measurable to the return on the investment.

Supports the Omni-Channel Marketing Transformation: Supports the department manager in the evolution of single channel campaign scheduling into a coordinated omni-channel planning process that amplifies marketing messaging across the digital touch points. Determines the home page and topic page(s) content and determines if/when the content should change based on performance and omni-channel marketing. Provides update support of information contain on the schedules, as request by the manager.

Support the Organization\xe2\x80\x99s Brand Management: Serves as the organization\xe2\x80\x99s brand champion. Maintains brand guidelines and related materials and provides guidance for staff and external parties to properly express the company brand in marketing campaigns. Works closely with those involved in content preparation to optimize voice and tone that builds our brand credibility. Takes ownership of the brand presence on company.com, such as About Us and other brand modules, as well as in various member communications templates (such as email, presentations, collateral, business cards, letterhead). Identifies opportunities to improve brand awareness and transform those ideas into approved projects.
  • Oversees the Organic Social Channel(s): Using the defined strategy created by the department manager, the incumbent furthers brand awareness and member reach through the organic social channels. The incumbent creates a monthly messaging schedule, develops posts (or works with agencies who develop the posts), ensures the posts are reviewed by the appropriate parties, and launches the posts. Provides regular reporting and assesses the impact of social media efforts.
Develops Member Understanding Through Data Insights: Develops an in-depth knowledge of members, their needs, and their behaviors. Continually interprets data, research, and member feedback to further insights and understanding. Provides mentoring and support to colleagues, partners, and agencies to achieve a consistent understanding and functional competency around company\xe2\x80\x99s personas and audience segments.

Financial Management: Develops budget and supporting material that describes and justifies the spend. Collaborates with marketing staff to develop product-level digital media budgets based on historical digital advertising performance. Tracks and monitors expenses to ensure planned activities remain within budget. Processes invoices in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with the product management, web development, content, and analytics teams to build integrated digital campaigns and web-based experiences.
  • Use the content management system and other digital publishing tools to deploy content to the website.
  • Work with the product management team and external agencies/partners to develop and build campaign and journey-based email communications.
  • Use the email service platform (Salesforce Marketing Cloud/ExactTarget) to build, test, and deploy email communications to members.
  • Build and deploy Spanish language web pages and emails including all text and image copy.
  • Ensure proper analytics configuration for each project to enable timely, accurate and consistent reporting.
  • Build digital assets using web programming languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and image creation and manipulation tools (Photoshop, Illustrator).
Qualifications:
The incumbent must have extensive knowledge in digital marketing principles, campaign planning and execution, measurement, and results interpretation. With the support of the manager, the incumbent connects business strategy and campaign objectives to specific marketing actions and recommends an appropriate course. The incumbent will develop concise recaps of the marketing results and provide recommendations for continued improvement. The incumbent is expected to continually build their knowledge and skill set in the fast-changing landscape of digital marketing to support the company\xe2\x80\x99s digital growth goals.

The success candidate must have BA/BS degree in Digital Marketing or Interactive Marketing. Equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Must have 6 years of experience of developing and leading marketing and customer experience projects, with demonstrated experience in:
  • Understanding journey experience mapping, customer segments, and personas and how each is used in marketing planning.
  • Developing marketing campaign plans and goals that are results measurable achievement of organizational goals.
  • Analyzing campaign performance, developing longitudinal trends, and developing recommendations that are justified with data.
  • Writing copy which effectively engages the intended audience.
  • Coordinating contributions from multiple entities (both internal and external) while ensuring consistency of voice and adherence to expected brand identity.
  • 4 years of demonstrated success:
  • Independently managing multiple projects to completion while working to timelines
  • Excellent organizational skills along with a natural inclination for planning.
  • Planning marketing budgets and determining the effectiveness of the spend based on project goals. \xc2\xb7
Technical Experience:
  • Effective use of Google Analytics to understand campaign performance and customer behavior.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a company\xe2\x80\x99s social media presence.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the company\xe2\x80\x99s standard software tool suite (such as MS Office, SharePoint) and ability to quickly learn and effectively use other-specific software (such as use Unica and JIRA)
  • Demonstrated collaboration, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication.
  • Ability to convey complex material effectively in a short amount of time to staff at varying levels of the organization.
  • Confident group facilitation and persuasive public speaking
