The Team
You will work with a dynamic team of communications professionals and collaborate with other groups within ICF, including the digital modernization teams, who are all committed to ensuring a seamless IT experience to our federal government clients.

The Work
We are seeking an IT Senior Communications Specialist and Project Coordinator to join our team to help promote the use of new technologies, tools, and platforms, improve customer service, and increase engagement with stakeholders and customers. The IT Senior Communications Specialist and Project Coordinator is an excellent communicator, has an enthusiasm for collaboration, a proactive work approach, and has a genuine interest in IT. This individual will be responsible for coordinating and communicating with our federal government clients and internal ICF team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support IT communications efforts, including developing communications plans and writing original content.
  • Develop communications that enable stakeholders and end users to understand and use new technologies, tools, and platforms, with the goal of improving customer service and increasing engagement.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, technologists, and others to develop communications materials, such as email campaigns, blogs, knowledge articles, executive-level briefings, presentations, standard operating procedures, and other documentation as needed.
  • Translate technical content into communications materials that are clear and useful to a wide audience.
  • Build partnerships within the agency(s) to raise the visibility of key IT projects and capture successes.
  • Manage communications projects independently and deliver projects on time.
  • Serve as a liaison and facilitator between clients and technical teams.
  • Manage meetings with clients and internal teams, including preparing agendas, guiding conversations about project updates and roadblocks, taking meeting notes, conveying client expectations to the team, delivering meeting minutes, and maintaining master project tracker.
  • Establish strong rapport and working relationships with clients, leadership executives, and subject matter experts.


Required Qualifications:
  • BS/BA in Business, Communications, English, Writing, Marketing, or equivalent in professional experience
  • 5+ years of previous relevant experience
  • 3+ years of proven IT communications or project management experience
  • Must be able to obtain a government security clearance, per contract requirements
  • U.S. citizenship required (required by federal government for the position)

  • Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
  • Flexibility to adapt to frequent changes and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Proficient in Windows PC environment, including Microsoft Office 365 applications


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level IT programs and communications
  • Appreciation for the role IT plays in meeting business objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage myriad communications channels
  • Familiarity with Federal Plain Language Guidelines
  • Familiarity with writing for Section 508 requirements
  • Familiarity with Agile and/or development cycles such as SDLC or EPLC
  • Experience working with cloud-based platforms, including Salesforce, Appian, ServiceNow, MuleSoft, etc.
  • Strong writer and editor
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage myriad communications channels

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is: $82,673.00 - $140,544.00
