Join Our Team as a Government Relations Manager at the Oregon Youth Authority!

The Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Government Relations Manager to lead and oversee our engagement in the state legislative process. As the Government Relations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization by ensuring that legislative and stakeholder relationships and laws support our work and can be implemented. You will oversee policies and process internally, and supervise a team that performs records management, including expunction and releasing youth information, and the Interstate Compact for Juveniles. We are seeking a candidate who possesses a proven track record of managing the legislative process, building, and supporting teams, exercising sound discretionary judgment, and putting policy into practice. How To Qualify:
  • Six years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience; OR
  • three years of related experience and a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related field.
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience managing the development of a legislative agenda, representing an agency in a legislative process and coordinating bill review and response, and overseeing the implementation of legislation across an organization.
  • Experience supporting a group, team or individuals, who perform unique tasks, to support their ability to meet the needs of their work, manage to their goals and create a supportive and productive workspace while managing for inclusivity and differences in team and staff.
  • Ability to learn policies, procedures and key contacts in an organization or community, and know how to direct inquiries and problem solve when new issues arise requiring assessment and direction.
