Missouri Valley Christian Academy a non-denominational Christian K-8 school in Yankton, South Dakota is looking for a full-time administrative assistant. Primary Responsibilities include:
Provide secretarial and administrative support to staff, students, families and friends of MVCA as needed.
Provides additional assistance for various processes and activities to staff and students in the classroom and building as needed. Aids and directs students in a courteous and helpful manner.
Answers phone and email correspondence and communicates with Families, Students, MVCA and CTK staff and visitors in a courteous and helpful manner.
Verify and record daily attendance and lunch count.
Assist in maintaining, compiling, and updating school, student, family, and friends of MVCA records and databases, both physical and electronically including GradeLink.
Designs, composes, and edits materials and media to be shared with students, families and Friends of MVCA.
Updates school website and social media as well as other online communications.
Assists all school fundraising activities including coordinating volunteers and donations and facilitating correspondence and updating records.
Assists with accounting functions including recording deposits and expenses and compiling reports, QuickBooks experience preferred.
Administer the SCRIP program including updating all records, ordering and distributing all SCRIP and maintaining the SCRIP database.
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Administers first aid to students where necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
All faculty and staff are expected to play an integral role in the spiritual lives of students. This includes integration of a Biblical worldview into their work life and student interactions. Qualifications:
A committed Christian who is active in an evangelical church ministry.
Must be organized and self-motived, takes initiative to complete tasks and look for new ones, looks to find solutions to problems as they arise.
Demonstrates responsibility, can maintain confidential or sensitive information.
Friendly and outgoing personality, with previous experience working with children preferred.
Previous office experience required.
Strong interpersonal skills - exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge and proficiency of computers, databases, e-mail procedures, Microsoft Office and Google programs and modern office equipment, practices and procedures.
Experience updating website and social media preferred.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday 7:45-3:30, school holidays off, summer schedule negotiable
