Sodexo - Seniors has a current Chef Manager opportunity at Carroll Lutheran Village located in Westminister, Maryland. This is a large upscale continuing care retirement community serving over 600 residents. The Chef Manager will oversee the daily kitchen operations and manage a staff of approximately 15 hourly employees. Typical shift will be 10am-6pm with every other weekend rotation. Ability to motivate staff to achieve a high-level of customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will:

  • oversee daily operations of the kitchen (trayline and dining room service);
  • perform tray assessments to ensure food quality, temperature and tray accuracy;
  • handle food ordering and inventory;
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships;
  • perform functions that include direct supervision of hourly associates including employee development.

  • up to 2 years food service management experience in a hospital/skilled nursing setting;
  • the ability to successfully lead, develop and train a team;
  • basic culinary knowledge;

Responsible for the day to day execution of the menus & culinary deliverables. May be responsible for smaller units within a multi-location.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
