job summary:
Growing manufacturer in the Tulsa area is seeking a Weld Engineer to add to their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering and familiarity with ASME code section VIII and IX. Understanding of welding, metallurgy and heat treatment required. Welding certifications required. Will relocate for the right candidate.

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

responsibilities:

  • Specify ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division 1 and customer specification compliant welding procedures
  • Develop new welding procedures and welding methods
  • Communicate welding issues with customers; Calculate weld consumables.
  • Maintain the Welding Procedure Specification and Procedure Qualification Report database
  • Maintain welder qualifications and test methods for both the American Welding Society and Canadian Welding Bureau
  • Maintain and coordinate Pressure Equipment Directive Certification.
  • Develop and publish Welding Procedure Specifications, Procedure Qualification Reports, Tube-to-Tube Sheet mock-ups.
  • Submit requisitions for laboratory work.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Support other departments regarding welding matters, assist with audits, participate in root cause investigation
Requirements
  • B.S. in Engineering preferred, will consider other welding education programs
  • Working knowledge of ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division 1, and section IX and working knowledge of AWS D1.1
  • Understanding of welding metallurgy and heat treatment and ability to perform basic engineering strength calculations
  • Welding certifications a big plus: AWS, CWB, API
