The CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) Engineer role is responsible for supporting the installation, and commissioning of new processing equipment. This role will also log and analyze key process data and use this data to evaluate process stability and suggest/support process improvement efforts.
WHAT YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL BE DOING:


  • Carry out process development studies towards scale up and commercialization of process technology.
  • Assist in design, construction, and commissioning of process equipment.
  • Work with the R&D and operations team to develop solutions to problems and improve production throughput, cost, product quality and process safety.
  • Collect and evaluate data in order to plan experiments to modify and improve processes.
  • Develop and contribute manufacturing best practices as well as assist in manufacturing database design/management.
  • Collaborate with Research & Development to ensure the manufacturability of new products and processes.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance/facilities personnel to improve equipment reliability.
  • Resolve technical issues with equipment and processes to keep the production online.

WHAT WE\xe2\x80\x99RE LOOKING FOR:

  • B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Must have experience with Ansys CAE (Workbench, Mechanical and Fluent) software experience.
  • Experience with CFD in the automotive industry or prior battery background.
  • Experience in materials production and/or chemical processing.
  • Experience with thermal processing.
  • Experience in analyzing metals and polymers (stamped or formed sheet metal, injection-molded, insert molded, machined, extruded, die-cast, welding, etc.).
  • Strong English skills are required, both spoken and written.

OTHER QUALITIES WE\xe2\x80\x99D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:

  • HEV CAE experience is desired.
  • Experience with other CAE tools.
  • Experience in working in an R&D environment with time pressure, open-ended technical problems, and substantial individual autonomy are nice to have.

The base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $115,000. Actual pay depends on various factors, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
