Reporting to the FVP, Technology Operations & Chief Project Officer, the VP, EPMO and IT Governance will be responsible for defining and driving the plans to build and evolve the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) and IT Governance function. The VP, EPMO and IT Governance will ensure the effective management and the completion of a variety of projects across the company in partnership with other divisions. This position will play a pivotal role in aligning IT projects with business objectives, improving project management processes, and maintaining regulatory compliance. This role will also support the selection and onboarding of new vendors and services related to projects and initiatives. Additionally, this role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of project managers and business systems analysts to ensure successful delivery of all company projects. This also includes project closedown and technology transitions to operational and support teams.
  • Ensures business cases and implementation plans are supported by deep and broad business analytics intended to help ensure projects and initiatives support the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Manage direct resources including performance management, development, and career pathing.
  • Manages resource allocation across all projects and initiatives for direct reporting lines as well as departmental resources associated with key initiatives. Manages all contracted and consulting resource needs.
  • Drive the execution of company-wide initiatives and projects to achieve the expected scalability, performance, and availability goals, using internal and external resources. Direct management of all project delivery within the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) including adherence to the corporate-wide governance framework.
  • Partner with the FVP, Technology Operations & Chief Project Officer and business unit technology leaders to enable measurable outcomes aligned with business expectations. Support the development of business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for spending and initiatives working with technical and business partners.
  • Identify risks to project success, spot conflicts or inefficiencies between existing or proposed projects, and provide visibility into the status of projects for the Project Steering Committee.
  • Facilitates and informs the work of the Project Steering Committee to objectively select, prioritize, and manage a portfolio of projects across organization.
  • Facilitate all IT audits, compliance and regulatory requests, working with IT team members and SMEs as needed.
  • Own and manage any self-identified risks, audit findings, and recommendations to closure, working with the Risk organization.
Qualifications

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 15+ years\' experience managing and/or directing technology and/or project teams.
  • 15+ years of overall project management experience.
  • Strong Project Management background in a banking and/or financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading modernization and transformation of IT and business processes with minimal disruption.
  • Experience managing multi-year complex programs within Financial Services.
  • A proven solution-oriented leader who leads by example through strong personal leadership and conviction, possesses influencing and alignment-building skills and a true team orientation, and possesses impeccable interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success in leading diverse teams.
  • Effective people leader who attracts and retains strong talent.
  • Collaborative in working with peers and developing peer relationships.
  • Strong technology leadership across diverse corporate and executive IT systems.
  • Knowledge and experience working with audit and regulators within a financial institution.
  • Experience in strategic technology planning, execution, and policy development.
  • Exposure to business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Proven experience in planning, organization, and development.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.
Desired Skills:
  • PMP certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A professional services/consulting, and/or software development and delivery background in large complex environments is desirable.
  • Agile experience is desired.
