Position Overview

The Recruiter is responsible for full-cycle recruiting for a variety of positions nationwide in our Engineering, Construction, and Corporate divisions across our family of companies. The Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective and creative recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for AEG. This role serves as a consultative partner to hiring managers and is driven to grow the company through our people. The ideal candidate will become ingrained in the company quickly and create internal and external partnerships to facilitate the recruiting process successfully and create a first-class hiring experience for all.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with managers and key stakeholders to understand staffing needs and job requirements to fill positions quickly; create job-specific recruiting plans and sourcing strategies
  • Facilitate all phases of the recruitment process to hire top talent and support company growth goals, including job postings and advertising, sourcing, screening, and selection of qualified candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, extending and negotiating offers
  • Establish credibility and cultivate relationships to fill positions with the best talent and deliver exceptional experiences for candidates, hiring managers, and other stakeholders
  • Foster positive, ongoing relationships with candidates and new employees to ensure and maintain a positive customer experience with the company
  • Utilize knowledge of the talent market and sourcing strategies to find candidates that fit culturally and with position requirements; provide expert guidance on changes or new sourcing strategies and techniques or issues that impact the ability to recruit successfully
  • Develop and maintain a strong talent pipeline through targeted advertising, direct sourcing, networking, social media, employee referrals, and recruitment events; establish partnerships with local schools, professional organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the company and job openings in all markets
  • Assist managers with interview preparation and facilitation; provide coaching and support in selection decisions to ensure quality hires
  • Maintain recruiting data and ensure recruitment activity is updated in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner in the Applicant Tracking System; provide timely reports as needed
  • Make recommendations to enhance employer branding to attract top talent
  • Serve as a liaison with recruiting agencies, vendors, and other contacts to supplement hiring strategies when appropriate for targeted positions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies
  • Assist with team projects or processes to support overall talent management attraction, onboarding, and retention
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 4+ years full cycle recruiting; previous experience as a high-volume recruiter is preferred
  • Experience recruiting in trades/construction or engineering; telecommunications industry preferred
  • Knowledge of leading practices in talent sourcing and creative/innovative recruiting strategies with a proven ability to identify and engage top talent
  • Excellent judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality and the highest level of integrity and professionalism in all situations
  • Passion for employer branding and marketing activities; working knowledge of recruiting through social media applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce effective and creative content
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interact with people in all levels of the organization
  • Expert time management and organizational skills; adapts quickly to changes, manages competing demands, and effectively deals with delays or unexpected events
  • Detail-oriented with good follow-through skills; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • May experience long hours of standing and moving
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
