As the Strategy and Portfolio Director, Data, you will be an advisor to the SVP, Enterprise Data providing thought leadership, problem-solving, and oversight of both major initiatives within the portfolio and team effectiveness.

Flexible Work Policy: The work for the Strategy and Portfolio Director, Data position is completed remotely anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories. This position may have the potential to travel up to 20% dependent on business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, we are looking for an independent self-starter who will play a key role in running the business of our Enterprise Data and Reporting organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gain deep understanding of the top ranked initiatives within the portfolio including committed value, key milestones, and interdependencies to allow appropriate inspection of risks and red flags requiring further leadership engagement.
  • Drive delivery of Enterprise Data and Reporting leadership commitments, remove obstacles and highlight areas for accountability.
  • Create and run the financial and contractual oversight process. More specifically, work closely with the Director, IT Finance to create monthly budget reviews of projects and operations then identify and drive the actions required for the department to stay on budget.
  • Support organizational evolution from a project-based to a product-based structure including advising on gaps and opportunities
  • Improving forecasting and planning for associate work, including addressing new and emerging work and development opportunities
  • Partner with key governance and shared services organizations including Program Governance and Advisory (within IT), Program Office (Enterprise), functional leadership, and Indirect Procurement to ensure alignment and support for enterprise initiatives.
  • Represent the SVP, Enterprise Data as needed in key governance meetings, within and outside the IT team
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager
SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Project management: Advanced project management skills with experience in organizing, planning, and executing multiple medium to large scale projects and programs from definition through implementation.
  • Understanding of agile methods and frameworks (e.g., Scaled Agile), product-oriented IT operating models, and their implications on program and project governance.
  • Experience managing multi-phase, multi-track projects spanning 9 to 24 months in duration. Comprehensive knowledge of full lifecycle project management, software development, package implementations, infrastructure deployment methodologies, IT transformation projects and industry best practices
  • Outstanding verbal/written communication, collaboration, presentation and negotiation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and teamwork. Ability to foster the development of high-performance teams. Capable of building strong professional relationships with ability to influence all levels across the organization. Must be able to set and execute strategic initiatives for team. Creative thinker with ability to identify innovative business solutions. Ability to develop strategic organization and resource plans, defining next generation business and leadership needs
  • Analytical skills: ability to collect, report and synthesize meaningful data from disparate sources to monitor progress, flag issues and evaluate initiative effectiveness
SUPERVISION:
This is a senior-level role within the IT organization as a high-level individual contributor. This person needs to be able to influence VPs, SVPs and C-suite executives. Should be able to present independently in forums without the oversight of the SVP, Enterprise Data.

RELATIONSHIPS
  • Internal: This position will interact primarily with the Executive Leadership Team (C-level), SVPs / VPs in the field and in functions, as well as working with SMEs across the organization.
  • External: This position will interact with vendors evaluating technologies and aligning with internal strategy as well as evaluating performance of vendor products including contractors, consultants, software, and services
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must possess Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in technology or business domain or MBA if unrelated undergrad
  • Must possess 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in an IT organization with at least 3 years reporting to an executive leader, 3 years managing project(s) or complex portfolios, and 3 years implementing technology projects.
  • Preferred: Consulting experience

  • Ability to speak in public setting and / or large audiences
The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In Colorado, the expected compensation for this role is between $114,100 and $152,100. In New York City, the expected compensation for this role is between $135,000 and $181,000. In California, the expected compensation for this role is between $128,000 and $171,000. In Washington, the expected compensation for this role is between $128,000 and $171,000.
