The CCP is currently accepting applications for a Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) Specialist within the Policy Bureau.

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager II, or Bureau Chief, the SSM I Specialist develops and implements the anaphylactic policy, creates and distributes informational materials, and provides training and technical assistance to support policy implementation. The SSM I Specialist also leads outreach efforts, coordinates with California Department of Education and other partners, serves as a liaison with state agencies on legislative and regulatory changes, and contributes to ongoing policy development and quality improvement.

Working Conditions


Working conditions include use of a computer for several hours a day which involves sitting most of the time but may include walking or standing for brief periods. Attend meetings, workshops and training associated with job duties. Work hours and schedules may vary. Must be able to travel to all parts of California.




The SSM I Specialist position will be located in any of the CCP Regional Offices and the selected candidate will occasionally be required to report to one of the following offices as deemed necessary by management: Chico, El Segundo, Fresno, Monterey Park, Oakland, Orange, Palmdale, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bruno, San Jose, San Diego, Santa Barbara, or Santa Rosa.



This position is eligible for

hybrid work

in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order N-22-25 and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Servicesunder California Government Code Section 14200. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time. The incumbent will be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the CDSS policies. Headquarter location may be designated on the selected candidate's primary residence location, and/or the closest CDSS location in accordance with operational need and available space.
