Staff Educator
Job Description
The Nurse Educator is responsible for the planning and implementation of in-house nursing education, onboarding nurses (new and experienced), and staff professional development. Acts as a change agent and best practice champion for a 25 bed med/surg unit and 10 bed inpatient acute rehab unit. Works with all members of the nursing team and utilizes a variety of learning methodologies, such as simulation. Assists in providing a learning opportunities for nursing students and high school students interested in healthcare careers. A successful candidate is collaborative, creative and maintains high standards of professional practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: MSN-Ed. Preferred. BSN with prior experience in nursing education.
Experience: Acute care nursing background essential with 3-5 years acute medical/surgical nursing experience desired. Must provide evidence or demonstrate proficiency teaching adult learners. Experience in simulation education and learning management systems preferred.
Current State of Vermont registered nurse licensure required. experience desired. Must provide evidence or otherwise demonstrate proficiency teaching adult learners.
