Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant with a background in financial services or credit unions to join our accounting team in San Francisco. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Senior Accountant.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Perform general accounting functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable management, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager in ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed.

• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant in the financial services industry or credit unions.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• CPA certification or progress towards certification is preferred.
