Location/Schedule:
Tallgrass has a flexible working environment that offers employees the option to choose from compressed weeks with half-day Fridays or every other Friday off and Hybrid options for specific roles. Our spacious Lakewood, CO office, has an on-site gym and food trucks twice a month! We currently can hire for this position from the following locations: Lakewood, CO; Houston, TX, and nearby locations. The pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
Primary purpose:
The Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist will serve as a primary point of contact for all Tallgrass Sourcing needs. The Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist will work closely with a team of HR professionals, candidates, and hiring managers across the organization. The Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist serves as an integral partner in managing recruiting activities, building positive candidate relationships, and providing candidates with an exceptional first impression of Tallgrass. This role will report directly to the Talent Acquisition Manager and closely support additional ongoing TA projects and tasks as needed.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Cultivate partnerships with hiring leaders to deeply understand the requirements of the role, the function and how it fits into the organization.
  • Proactively assist in sourcing, engaging, assessing, and hiring top talent across multiple different departments and disciplines.
  • Takes an active role in the full cycle recruitment process providing resume screening, interview pre-screening services, scheduling interviews, candidate recommendations, and interview question suggestions.
  • Lead College Relations Programs including internship programs, job shadowing, career fairs, student field trips and classroom presentations.
  • Support building out detailed talent sourcing materials including search strategies, mapping markets, industry trends and insights, and pipelines of target profiles and companies.
  • Strategizes different ways to build talent pipelines and execute tactical research, referral generation events, and sourcing campaigns.
  • Identifies, and engages in passive candidate searches through LinkedIn and alternative search techniques.
  • Regularly tracks sourcing pipeline activity to share with internal stakeholders.
  • Recommends and drives improvements that positively impact the recruiting process, candidates, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with teammates to:
    • Seamlessly deliver exceptional hiring manager and candidate experiences.
    • Support functions as needed (e.g., posting open positions, extending offers, managing applicant tracking, SharePoint, etc.)
    • Maintains accurate and timely documents pertinent to the recruiting process.
  • Proactively takes ownership of the recruitment process and makes recommendations for process improvements, in partnership with the other members of the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Helps maintain relationships with outside recruiting partners and vendors such as colleges/universities, employment agencies, external recruiters, etc.
  • Assist with department-wide initiatives and projects to further the department\xe2\x80\x99s success and growth.

Minimum requirements:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree (e.g., human resources, business, economics, etc.).
  • 4 + years of proven work experience as a Sourcer
    • preferably in the oil and gas industry or energy transition specialties
  • Track record in demanding searches (at least 2 years of experience, preferably in head hunting agency).
  • Understanding of recruitment and hiring laws, processes, and terminology.
  • Ability to translate our culture to passive candidates to bring them over to Tallgrass.
  • Experience working with ADP Workforce Now and/or Oracle applicant tracking systems preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of how to search in general AI in candidate search and Proficiency in LinkedIn.
  • Experience working with ADP Workforce preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Highly organized individual who can manage multiple competing priorities and 30+ open positions at any time.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Teams, Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Competencies, Skills & Abilities:
  • A strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges in building a diverse talent pool and the tenacity to overcome obstacles and challenges.
  • Working knowledge and awareness of wage/hour and employment laws/regulations.
  • The ability to build relationships and work closely with key internal and external partners to create innovative sourcing strategies and ongoing programs that yield measurable results.
  • Ability to use influence skills to introduce new concepts and achieve adoption.
  • Industry knowledge and general comprehension of relevant companies, engineering communities, and other technical resources. Experience sourcing energy transition candidates with hydrogen, ammonia, CO2, and other decarbonization related roles is highly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a team-oriented approach, and a desire to learn.
  • Flexibility with work schedule for recruiting events and meetings is required.
  • Industry knowledge of commercial sales, business development, engineering, accounting, and field ops positions (Mechanics, Field Technicians, Ops Specialist, etc.) would be beneficial.

Working Conditions:
  • This is primarily an office environment with some travel to field locations including outdoor facilities in remote locations.
  • Travel is required and is anticipated 15% of the time.
  • Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including a credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Above the minimum requirements, not required but advantageous in this position:
  • Proven experience with talent acquisition processes, job development, workforce development and/or job placement.
  • Solid experience as a Sourcer/Sourcing Specialist; Familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards and other social media platforms a plus
  • Skilled in grammatically correct and effective business writing including the ability to write persuasively, clearly and concisely and to blend information from multiple sources.
  • Effective communication/public speaking skills, and the ability to connect quickly and authentically with people from a variety of different professional and cultural backgrounds, commitment to the value of diversity and inclusion.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills; adept at managing relationships both internally and externally
