We are looking for a dynamic individual with excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a desire to help others for our SOS Temporary Office Specialist position. In this role you will be an integral part of our Behavioral Health Division and provide critical secretarial and administrative support to the Health Information Management Department and maintenance of medical records at Lincoln Regional Center.

Examples of Work

The Lincoln Regional Center is looking a full-time/temporary Office Specialists to maintain patient records in the Health Information Management (HIM) department in compliance with established LRC Policy, Joint Commission and CMS accreditation and regulatory standards.
*Audit ward charts on a regular basis, record deficiencies, and follow up with staff to correct deficiencies.
*Scanning of medical records into the electronic medical record system using detailed instructions.
*Close medical record in compliance with established LRC and regulatory standards.
*Send information to referral agencies and specified providers within required time frames.
*Data entry into various computer programs and gather statistical information for reports and surveys.

Qualifications / Requirements

Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency OR Experience in customer service or public contact; or applying criteria/regulations; and/or performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: office and support functions, health information practices, confidentiality (HIPAA), medical terminology, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and composition, file maintenance (electronic and paper), and office equipment. EMR experience preferred.
Ability to: communicate effectively, prioritize work, be detail oriented, establish positive working relationships, and understand and apply policies and procedures.
