Job Summary and Qualifications
As a member of the Software Asset Management team (SAM), responsible for supporting and facilitating the adoption of SAM best practices and integration of enterprise asset discovery data to maximize software licenses and minimize legal and audit risk. In collaboration with the SAM managed services partner, responsible for the collection, analysis and troubleshooting of enterprise inventory data. Support cross-functional teams in the decommissioning of third party software products. Support audit defense activities across multiple publishers and compute platforms as required. Assist in Enterprise Mainframe Licensing through validation of mainframe software product usage, support renewals, and calculate cost for new software associated with ELAs or vendor replacement opportunities.
Major Responsibilities:




Support the timely collection of enterprise inventory data across all corporate and business unit data sources and platforms



Support software optimization activities by providing reports of installed software products by device to cross-functional decommissioning teams



Provide ongoing audit monitoring for the presence of previously decommissioned software products and if identified, escalate and engage appropriate decommissioning teams for products\xe2\x80\x99 removal



Assist in providing HCA inventory data to the SAM managed services partner



Support the SAM team in collaborating with Service Management and Infrastructure Operations teams to resolve discovery and inventory collection issues and data quality risks



Assist in identifying opportunities to automate data collection activities and participate in the effort to develop, test and implement such improvements



Monitor and report adherence to software license entitlement usage numbers for specific software publishers to minimize audit risk to the organization



Support cross-departmental advisory committees to address software licensing and audit issues



Assist in implementing incremental operational improvements through interfacing with field software managers, legal, Insight (or any other third party reseller), third party license management companies and software vendors



Provide assistance to other departments to address implementation of new or modified software licensing models



Support audit reviews across departments/Enterprise to ensure all strategies and processes are being executed as designed and perform root cause analysis on trends when Software Asset Management metrics are trending negatively



Help institute cost savings and mitigate risk to the organization from ongoing software maintenance and license optimization



Assist in maintaining the configuration and reporting of key software publisher\xe2\x80\x99s license metric tools



Demonstrate a willingness to learn and understand the complexities of vendor / product software licensing, which is imperative to the budget and compliance processes



Track software savings identified in the Cost Savings Initiative


What qualifications you will need:




Assist in the decommissioning of third party software



Assist in the collection of enterprise inventory data



Assist in the proper configuration of ILMT



Provide audit defense support for both server and desktop software products



Support the development of ELPs as required





Assist in the creation and governance of Enterprise licensing models, vendor relationships, business/technical relationships with VARs, internal business stakeholders and internal ITG relationships



Provide software license management support to end users



Facilitate relationships between ITG and company employees for purposes of software license use awareness



Support asset managers on understanding specific licensing models related to their area of responsibility and the software products that they utilize
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:






Bachelor\'s degree Computer Science or a related field of study



Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with various levels of the organization is required.



Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail required.



Excellent verbal and written communication required.



Advanced Excel skills preferred.



Proficient understanding in the use of software tools such as: BMC Discovery, ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM and ILMT



1+ year(s) of experience in software license management and industry standard discovery tools
