Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary: Primary Purpose of the job

As a member of the Software Asset Management team that focuses on maintaining software license compliance and software license optimization for enterprise desktop and server environments, this role will assist team members in:
  • Researching and analyzing software license purchase and software discovery data and perform reconciliation and remediation tasks to ensure data accuracy and quality
  • Working closely with subject matter experts, including system architects, system administrators, project managers, financial managers, engineers and leverage HCA toolsets to obtain critical information required for effective management of desktop and server software licenses
  • Performing impact assessments on pending or potential architectural or contractual changes, outlining incremental license or maintenance costs due to change and potential cost mitigation opportunities based on license use metrics or product use changes
  • Conducting Enterprise-wide software license modeling and creating a license compliance framework, including standard reporting documentation for a suite of desktop and server products across multiple software publishers
  • Performing Enterprise data analysis for a select portfolio of HCA software vendors related to negotiation and business needs including: current license position, HCA custom contract terms, non-standard use rights and consolidated reporting / tracking related to the respective licensing agreement
  • Identifying Enterprise-wide license compliance issues & risks and assisting in coordinating the remediation of the identified risks
  • Developing and maintaining lines of communication with hospitals, divisions, other corporate departments, and vendors to corporate ITG management concerning feedback on software vendor licensing issues.
  • Actively assess risk and cost reduction opportunities and make recommendations to Software Owners and Software Asset Management leadership to optimize the software asset portfolio
  • Managing day to day requests from end-users to fulfill software licensing needs
This position reports to Senior Director, Asset Management and works closely with the in-house software asset management team, the third-party software asset management service provider, the procurement and F&A staff, HCA employees at multiple professional levels including executives, project business owners and vendor staff including those from corporate, field and groups.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates and leads software license data gathering for software publisher enterprise contract negotiations. Supports business owner strategy planning for license purchases at an Enterprise level. Responsible for creation of a repeatable license compliance plan and process based on available tools and data.

Creates and manages software Enterprise licensing models, vendor relationships, business/technical relationships with VARs, internal business stakeholders and internal ITG relationships. Provides software license management consulting and guidance to outside and affiliate businesses. Facilitates relationships between ITG and division/market staff for purposes of license use awareness.

For a variety of software publishers, integrates a software license strategy across Corp business owners. Helps develop license harvest models to reduce expense. Identifies future software aggregation opportunities and provide licensing costs and chargeback support for various software products.

Provides license guidance and direction to Corp and Division employees who deploy 3rd party software and/or are responsible for licensing compliance. Supports and provides license consultation to asset managers on understanding software licensing models related to their area of responsibility.

Qualified candidates must have 5+ years of relevant work experience.

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required.

This position requires superior judgment, high ethical standards, a strong attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication skills. A successful candidate is comfortable with accountability for decision-making and management authority. Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office products and able to learn and utilize new technology resources as required.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions:

This job is a largely sedentary role operating in a typical office setting, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers and phones and requiring speaking, hearing, fine motor dexterity.
