Social Media Specialist As a Social Media Specialist, you will be working on our Experience Marketing team supporting the community-building efforts of Shopmonkey in the automotive industry space digitally. In this role, you will be responsible for curating industry-centric media that engage our existing and future customers through storytelling, thought leadership, trends, and fun! You will get the opportunity to build relationships through Shopmonkey social channels and leverage 1000s of existing customers\' stories to create amazing content. The person who best fits this role is an automotive-centric, social media specialist who has a passion for understanding and identifying what pieces of media resonate with a community. Then, going out and sourcing and curating those pieces of media. You have an innate ability to evaluate Shopmonkey\'s value, understand why we are unique, and use that value to build our community. Shopmonkey Marketing is a growing team with a collective focus to build a community of car people through our software and the shops we serve. You will have access to design, production, and copywriting resources to help fuel the Media machine we are creating. You Will Have The Opportunity To:

  • Build a community of car people that helps change the way car owners and shops think about car care
  • Come up with original content ideas and figure out how to bring them to life
  • Own the process alongside our Social Media Content Creator to create entertaining content tailored to our social media strategy for each social channel - TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Collaborate with the Brand, Design, and Events teams within Shopmonkey Marketing to collectively create great work.
  • Manage the social calendar and social content pipeline including sourcing, production, posting, and engagement.
  • Create storylines of how technology and automotive are uniquely connected and evolving
We Are Looking For You If You Have:
  • Strong social media knowledge and a track record of building a community through social channels.
  • Automotive industry experience includes auto repair, tire & wheel, quick lube, motorsports, car clubs, shows, performance, and more.
  • Experience using the social media management platform Sprout Social for engagement, production, reporting, and analysis.
  • Active on social media and stay up to date on platform trends, best practices, innovative ideas, and influences trends in the automotive space.
  • Love working in a fast-paced environment where pushing the boundaries of what is possible and creating healthy conflict internally to do so is the norm.
  • Bonus if you have, experience or interest in, being behind or in front of the camera to create video/photo content from an iPhone or other camera equipment with an emphasis on short-form video.
  • Bonus if you have post-production skills including editing, color correction, and basic graphic/animation work
This role will be scoped based on experience and availability. This is a part-time, U.S. based position basis only, with some travel required.
