We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst/Program Controller to join our team in Washington, DC. In this role, you will oversee all financial aspects of Sayres\' government contract execution. Collaborating closely with the Contracts Department, you will handle funding documentation for subcontractors, invoice preparation, and the development of supplementary documents to support the invoicing process. Additionally, you will prepare financial status reports, provide recommendations based on your findings, and serve as a liaison between corporate finance and program managers to ensure accurate financial information is communicated. You will utilize the company\'s Unanet accounting system to access program financial data.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison and facilitate the flow of financial information between the Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager, and corporate finance staff.
  • Coordinate financial data calls with the Program Manager and finance staff.
  • Conduct financial analysis for Revenue and Unbilled Reconciliation.
  • Track costs, fees, hours by labor category, and labor rates for funded contract line items.
  • Monitor and project future subcontractor costs in collaboration with the Contracts Department.
  • Forecast contract execution based on current expenditures.
  • Assess the impact of indirect rates on contract expenditures.
  • Prepare monthly and semi-monthly invoices for submission to the government.
  • Interface with accounting (Payroll and Accounts Payable) on all financial charges related to the contract, including labor, subcontracting, consultancy, travel, and material costs.
  • Complete monthly corporate financial reports.
  • Generate contract forecasts and provide financial information for the annual business plan.
  • Develop EAC/ETC (Estimate at Completion/Estimate to Complete) at the CLIN/SLIN (Contract Line Item Number/Sub-Line Item Number) level.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing group on Purchase Requisitions for material purchases.
  • Participate in year-end accounting close and support external and internal audits.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile:

With a Bachelor\'s Degree as a foundation, the candidate should have a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in financial management and program control. They should demonstrate a strong proficiency in extracting financial reporting, labor charging, cost accumulation, and other financial execution requirements from various government contracts. Previous experience in government contracting is essential, and the candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of contract types such as CPFF, CPAF, CPIF, T&M, and FFP. They should also have a solid understanding of indirect rates, the ability to comprehend and interpret contract readings and modifications, and possess general business acumen.

The candidate should be adept at working independently while effectively liaising with the Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager, and Corporate Finance Team. They should possess strong leadership skills to confidently lead all aspects of project financial execution and reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is crucial for this role, as the candidate will be expected to leverage advanced Excel skills to perform financial analysis and reporting. Additionally, the candidate should be a strong team player, capable of multitasking and thriving in a fast-growing corporate environment.

A verifiable secret clearance (DISS) or the ability to obtain one is required for this position.

Preferred qualifications for the candidate include a Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance or Accounting, demonstrating specialized knowledge in these areas. Experience with Unanet, an accounting system, is highly desirable. Proficiency in Excel pivot tables is also considered a plus, as it enhances the candidate\'s ability to analyze and present financial data effectively.
