TL;DR

As Tango\xe2\x80\x99s second content marketing hire, you\xe2\x80\x99ll have the opportunity to shape our strategy and bring a compelling company narrative to life. As a builder, you\xe2\x80\x99ll establish (and improve!) processes to increase cross-functional collaboration, minimize context switching, drive velocity, and make Tango users the heroes of the stories we tell. As a doer, you\xe2\x80\x99ll move fast, work with lots of agency, embrace experimentation and iteration, own the outcomes of your work, and value progress over perfection. This is a remote position based in the US, with three off-sites a year to meet your teammates in person (and explore different cities around the country!).

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Partner with the Content Marketing Lead to build a content marketing function from the ground up and turn Tango into the unrivaled content authority on knowledge operations.
  • Propose quarterly initiatives to engage, educate, and inspire Tango users and personas\xe2\x80\x94and support tentpole marketing campaigns and new feature launches.
  • Own individual key results relating to brand awareness, acquisition, retention, and (eventually) revenue.
  • Edit, research, write, distribute, and repurpose long-form blog posts (in lockstep with teammates in Brand, Product, Lifecycle, Growth, Community, and Social/Partnerships).
  • Help streamline content creation, production, publishing, and distribution.
  • Harvest knowledge internally and externally\xe2\x80\x94from Tango\xe2\x80\x99s diverse community, subject matter experts, and thought leaders\xe2\x80\x94to inform original points of view.
  • Co-manage our editorial calendar and help expand our library of content types to include a Tango quick start guide, case studies, eBooks/playbooks, research reports, and more.
  • Manage our SEO agency partner, enable excellent execution, and refine systems to increase efficiency.
  • Document and share best practices to drive top-quality content production at scale.
  • Tie effort to impact in monthly reports that ladder up to team and company goals.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring

  • 5-7 years of B2B or B2C content marketing experience (PLG SaaS company preferred), with a portfolio of work you\xe2\x80\x99re proud of.
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills. As a writer, you\xe2\x80\x99re ready to run with a few examples to help you grasp voice/tone, an editorial style guide, and a strategic narrative. As an editor, you enjoy the challenge of taking something from good to great (and teaching others to do the same).
  • Creativity and composure under pressure. You\xe2\x80\x99re an exceptional storyteller who can create well-researched, actionable, and differentiated content with material impact on acquisition, activation, and retention\xe2\x80\x94in the time available.
  • Rock-solid communication skills. As much as you like to be heads down writing, you also enjoy interviewing people to inform your content, collaborating with teammates asynchronously and in real-time, and marketing your work internally.
  • Operational prowess. If there\xe2\x80\x99s a way to get work done more efficiently, at a higher quality, with better results, you\xe2\x80\x99ll find it.
  • Proven experience with content operations, SEO, vendor management, and project management. (Bonus points if your background also includes web content strategy, light coding, storyboarding, and/or podcasting!)
  • Familiarity with tools like Asana, Webflow, Tableau, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, ChatGPT, Letterdrop, and Canva.
  • A desire to win, together, in a startup environment. (Where excitement about what we\xe2\x80\x99re building, the problems we\xe2\x80\x99re solving, and the people we\xe2\x80\x99re helping trumps a little chaos and ambiguity.)
  • An appreciation for the Oxford comma and a knack for choosing the ideal emoji.

Compensation

  • Our base salary compensation is $110,000 - 130,000 for this role, and the total compensation package will also include equity and benefits. We value each employee based on their impact within the company, regardless of their location. Due to this, we set salary ranges for all roles based on function, level, and benchmark against similar-stage growth companies. We share salary ranges on all job postings to comply with local legislation and provide greater transparency to candidates. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including past candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above. Additionally, we offer compensation review cycles 2x per year and have an annual equity refresh program.
