Pay Grade: NC09 Recruitment Range: $38,516.00 - $45,921.00

Classification: Revenue Tax Technician
Currently, the Department of Revenue is hiring for two Revenue Tax Technician positions within the Quality Assurance Team of the Customer Interaction Center and Quality Assurance (CICQA) Division.

The major purpose of this position is to perform call monitoring, observations, evaluating and documenting the performance of employees providing accurate and timely employee performance scorecard reports to supervisors.

This position monitors and documents customer service performance for Business Services Contact Center and CICQA employees. This position assists with contact center new hire training, as well as reviewing, creating and delivering training and resource materials.

The normal work schedule for a quality assurance revenue tax technician consists of Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The work hours could be extended based on business needs determined by senior management.

Management Preferences:
Familiarity with taxation principles and terminology is desirable.
Two years of experience in a revenue tax technician or customer service team leader position is preferred.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field from an appropriately accredited institution, and one year work experience preferably in an accounting-related environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position is subject to federal and state criminal background checks that may include fingerprinting and verification of tax compliance. "Tax compliance" is defined as having filed and paid all North Carolina State taxes owed each year leading up to the current calendar year or currently in a non-delinquent payment status with the State of North Carolina on taxes that are currently owed to the state.
