The Residential Counselor will be responsible and accountable for applying their specialized knowledge and advanced practice skills in the areas substance abuse and behavioral health counseling to youth in the East Idaho Youth Homes program with emphasis placed on psychological, sociological, and physiological approaches. The Residential Counselor must practice code of ethics set forth in state, federal and local guidelines for the practice and organization. This position will be required to be credentialed and maintain credentials for Medicaid, follow IDAPA rules, CARF standards and procedures, professional standards, and all state, local and federal laws. This position will report to the Chief Administrator/Deputy Administrator and will be reviewed by a licensed designee for clinical oversight of services provided. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must possess current licenses as required under IDAPA 24.15.01 qualifications and experience.
  • Must have completed the graduate program as required under IDAPA 24.15.01
  • Must be able to complete an enhanced fingerprinting and background check.
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and negative TB results.
  • Must have a valid Idaho driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with minimum of seven (7) violations and no major at-fault accidents.
  • Must be able to obtain First Aid and CPR, Assistance with Medication trainings or proof of completion.
Responsibilities:
  • Meet with 6-8 youth per day.
  • Responsible for facilitating group and individual substance abuse counseling
  • Responsible for case management for substance abuse disorder
  • Responsible for performing individual assessments.
  • Responsible for creating individual treatment plans.
  • Responsible for maintaining current skills and knowledge through continuing education and training
  • Responsible for assisting the treatment plan team in the creation and implementation of youth/resident service plan/individualized plans, well-being plans, and safety plans and encouraging youth/resident their participation
  • Responsible for advocating for the youth/residents in the program/services when needed.
  • Responsible for communicating all relevant information to the youth/resident and relevant individuals and agencies as needed.
  • Responsible for communication with youth/residents, families, clinicians, interdisciplinary team members and supervisors, to coordinate care and services, improve organization and implementation of plans of care, to maintain quality of care and quality of life.
  • Responsible for presenting yourself daily as a positive role model for youth/residents/families/staff and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for creating a nurturing environment for persons served and their families.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $58,937.00 - $62,664.00 per year Benefits:
