Position Description: The Coordinator is responsible for management of the residence life program on the Barton County campus to include direction for the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programming appropriate to the residential student population. This position also serves as a Campus Safety Authority as required by federal law in the Clery Act. The person hired for this position will be required to live in on-campus housing. Position Responsibilities: 49.00% - Provide primary oversight for daily operations of residential housing program at Barton. Train, develop, and supervise Assistant Housing Coordinator and other staff (including student employees) with housing responsibilities, including assigning/coordinating and/or assisting with housing mailroom services, intramural programming and student activities. Assist students in resolving concerns related to their living arrangements including mediating concerns among residents. Assist with code of conduct investigations as requested or assigned.
15.00% - Develop and manage processes associated with receipt of housing applications, contracts, correspondence, and reporting relative to student housing. Maintain student housing inspection and damage charge file and collaborate with facilities personnel relative to maintenance and repair. Update annually the Student Housing Handbook information and other print or web information on services, policies and procedures. Ensure processes for housing requirements are followed.
15.00% - Act as liaison with other college offices to include: the Business Office, Facility Management, Athletics, Food Service, Campus Safety, faculty, Administration and Student Government relative to the on-going funtions of student housing and coordination of planned events relative to the use of housing facilities.
5.00% - Review occupancy and enrollment trends relative to college planning goals and objectives. Participate in the preparation and utilization of the budgetary resources available to maintain and improve student housing facilities and programming.
5.00% - Assist with the development and implementation of emergency and other logistical procedures for student housing. 5.00% - Make recommendations in regard to maintaining present and consideration of proposed student housing facilities. Assist in on-campus visitations and tours for prospective students.
6.00% - Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Expectations: To be available "on call" at all times except for designated times off.
Be accessible to residents, family members, and other campus staff relative to the daily needs of campus housing.
Tend to the daily operation of Student Housing in a way that will offer the residents a positive experience, to include establishing ongoing rapport with residents and others with interests in student housing.
A high degree of communication competence, excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills, ability to work with diverse populations.
Demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical standards of professional practice, as well as personal and professional integrity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience - Up to 6 months of similar or related experience.
Education - A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
Interpersonal Skills - Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

Other Skills - Bachelor\'s degree preferred.
Physical Requirements: The work requires minor physical exertion such as short periods of standing, walking over rough uneven surfaces, some recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities. Job may require recurring lifting of lightweight objects with infrequent bending or stooping alternating with the lighter activities. Job requires minimal agility and dexterity.
Occasional exposure to objectionable conditions or variations such as those found in variable weather conditions or light industrial settings.

Wages/Other:
The salaried rate for the Residence Life Coordinator position is $49,028.16 or $55,455.75.
