Posting Summary
Serve as member of \xe2\x80\x9cone-stop shop\xe2\x80\x9d team of event coordinators making project management decisions and providing logistical coordination and implementation in support of various events taking place throughout the year. This position will specialize in supporting groups and programs taking place in the summer. Coordinate select number of annual summer programs and work in partnership to support summer client housing needs. Work closely with key campus partners to ensure a smooth experience for clients. Responsible for setup of housing registration site; including designing, building and management of process (ex: terms and conditions, housing contracts, customer service to payments. Provide supervision to student conference assistants. Supply logistical coordination for multiple events (in person, virtual and/or hybrid) at differing stages of development. Provide strategic oversight for internal and external programs and events which may include budget development and oversight; contracting and providing financial reconciliation of vendors; facilitate print and digital material process; menu planning and development in partnership with caterer appropriate for event; provide onsite event support when needed; and financial close out. Collaborate with departmental production and scheduling teams, Residence Life, Athletics, UVM Dining Services, and other campus service providers to ensure quality support is provided to clients. Determine and ensure accurate price structure and prepare cost analysis to generate revenue. Actively engage in learning and practicing principles of industry standards and best practices, social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience. This position will report to the Assistant Director for Sales & Event Services and during the summer months will functionally report to the Senior Summer Housing Coordinator. This is a bargaining unit position. This position is represented by the UVM Staff United.


Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in related field and three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience required. Effective interpersonal, communication and analytical skills to relay and accurately convey University policies and procedures to clients. Ability to coordinate multiple projects at various stages of development. Demonstrated project and resource coordination skills. Experience with various software programs, including MS Office. Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license, safe driving record, take University vehicle training, and be able to operate University vehicles. Demonstrated ongoing commitment to workplace diversity, sustainability and delivering exceptional value and wonderful experience for customers. Some early morning, night, and weekend work is required.


Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of software programs used for conferences such as scheduling, registration and diagramming software. Experience working in higher education (Residence Life, Conference & Events, or Student Life). Experience working with and/or supervising college students. Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) and/or Collegiate Conference and Event Professional (CCEP) credentials.
