Job Description


SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the administration of the Quality Management System and has the authority to manage all work affecting quality. The Quality Manager will provide leadership for the development, implementation and maintenance of quality system policies and procedures for the Company, according to an approved quality system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulate and manage the development of goals, objectives, polices, procedures and systems pertaining to the Quality Assurance function.
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with applicable international, regulatory, statutory and customer requirements.
  • Manage documentation related to the Quality System guidelines.
  • Provide leadership for developing and directing Quality Assurance and Quality improvement initiatives (cost of quality reduction, audit systems, CAPA system, etc.) for all products and processes.
  • Maintain an internal quality audit program
  • Identify quality related organization wide training needs and develop programs. Assist in delivering training.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and initiate programs to ensure suppliers meet organization and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate customer non-conformance responses.
  • Provide leadership to the Quality team through effective communications, coaching, training and development.
  • Direct and coordinate overall quality specifications, standards, inspection and testing procedures for raw materials, processes, and finished products.
  • Develop quality control plans/process control procedures that will ensure production of finished products that meet quality specifications and standards.
  • Responsible for establishing testing policies and procedures for maintaining a program that will meet the quality control needs of the organization.
  • Establish and maintain all quality documents, samples, customer communications, supplier development, product start-up, product launch, and correction of product variance and warranty analysis.
  • Represent the quality function on technical support, in conjunction with other internal support groups, regarding issues affecting production.
  • Promote APQP methodologies.
  • Foster and operate in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
GENERAL SKILLS
  • Experience interrelating with other departments throughout the company.
  • Ability to handle a variety of customer situations with enthusiasm and tact.
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees and management, both internally and externally.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Minimum 5 years supervision experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven experience in the development and implementation of quality systems and standards (ISO, IATF16949, FMEA\'s, PPAP, control Plans, etc.)
  • Strong problem solving, data analysis, administration, and change management skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing and six sigma programs.
  • Must be effective at resolving problems and handling stressful situations in a professional manner.
  • Must be detail oriented.
