Description:

The Senior Project Manager will oversee and consult multiple or one industrial projects for one of their biggest clients, and will mainly work on industrial construction projects for them. Will have 2 estimators/cost engineers that this PM will oversee and lead and a few different sites, local to metro-Detroit and outside of Louisville, KY and Knoxville, TN.

Will be responsible for MEP functions and will also prepare cost estimates, complete pricing and cost benchmarking validations, and provide specialty cost intelligence deliverables to their management team.

Other duties:

• Interrogates drawings and other project documents to prepare detailed cost estimates in accordance with industry accepted practices. Uses professional judgement to fill in gaps in the design.

• Works with project team to develop clear understanding of project scope during preparation of estimate. Develops relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members.

• Performs accurate quantity takeoffs from design documents in 2D and 3D (BIM) format.

• Obtains accurate and up to date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc. to utilize in estimates.

• Develops cost estimates using prescribed software and WBS

• Reviews scope and finalizes estimate unit cost pricing to reflect current market conditions and specific project logistics.

• Validates draft estimating reports for accuracy and suitability based upon the project type and specific project requirements. References historic benchmark cost information and highlights variances.

• Works with the Construction Data Intelligence team to develop early stage cost models utilizing historic benchmarking information and industry experience.

• Prepares cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explains cost driver variances.

• Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

• Complexity - Work involves complex or novel assignments requiring diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments. Work requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices.

• Decision-making - Consistently exercises solitary judgment. Supervision and guidance relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. Consults with supervisor concerning unusual problems and developments.

• Work direction given to others - Supervises, gives work direction to, and/or reviews the work of junior technical staff and/or others who assist in specific assignments

This role will require some travel 1 week/month around Metro-Detroit, Louisville, KY and Knoxville, TN areas

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVES:

Bachelor\'s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field

7 plus years in a Construction PM and/or Construction Estimating role

-MEP knowledge MUST

-Process Piping knowledge MUST

Industrial/manufacturing construction project experience

Strong technology skills and knowledge of standard estimating system functionality (incl. 2D and 3D QTO)

Knowledge of local construction market in area of operation including pricing conventions and trends

Ability to prepare conceptual cost model estimates from limited information using local historic cost information

Understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI and Microsoft Project

BONUS:

A professional designation such as RICS, CCE, CCM, AIA, PE, ASPE, AACEI, CVS, AVS, LEED AP, RA, or any appraisal or real estate licensure

5 plus years of estimating

Knowledge of CSI MasterFormat and Uniformat WBS\'s

Automotive/Big 3 Construction project experience
