Project Manager/Principal Investigator: Architectural History Salary Range: $65,000.00-$83,000.00 Professional/Full-time Salaried Position with Benefits Location: Remote Work is Possible Wapsi Valley Archaeology, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Project Manager/Principal Investigator in Architectural History. This professional, salaried position will involve working closely with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff to facilitate a large Flood Risk Management Project in the Fargo, North Dakota/Moorhead, Minnesota area. The position is expected to continue for 3 or more years. The position will offer a unique opportunity for professional growth in historic preservation, working with federal and state agencies, and project management. This Project Manager position is being created to assist the federal agency with mitigation of adverse effects to historic properties. Resources include historic architecture as well as archaeological sites. Candidates must meet the Secretary of the Interior\xe2\x80\x99s professional qualifications standards for Architectural History and History. The position requires a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in architectural history, history, public history, art history, historic preservation, archaeology, or a closely related field. Three years of research in architectural history/history, a year of project management experience, and experience working in the region are preferred. Excellent writing skills are a must. Also required are strong communication skills, organizational skills, research skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Solid knowledge of architectural history and history will be necessary for this position. Strong understanding and knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act is desirable. Anticipated responsibilities include: \xc2\xb7 Development of mitigation plans and agreements, preparing and refining survey data, overseeing the performance of federal task orders, review of documents, and preparation of presentations and publications to assist with mitigation of adverse effects to cultural resources. \xc2\xb7 Coordinating with and supervision of Wapsi staff and cultural resource service subcontractors/contractors to maintain standards of excellence and ensure completion of the flood risk management project. \xc2\xb7 Assisting with research, evaluation, and mitigation of architectural resources. \xc2\xb7 Development of historic contexts. \xc2\xb7 Working directly with federal agency staff to facilitate the project. \xc2\xb7 The position will involve periodic travel to the Fargo/Moorhead area.
