Job Description


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Project manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Lead in the development of high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring. Ensure regular feedback is shared with staff including timely completion of employee performance appraisals.
  • Manage and develop assigned staff toward maximum job performance and career potential.
  • Develop and improve upon assigned client relationships fostering a \xe2\x80\x9ctrusted advisor\xe2\x80\x9d status.
  • Understand and administer contract and subcontract agreements.
  • Provide leadership to positively influence change.
  • Foster and enhance design team, subcontractor, and vendor relations.
  • Establish, update, and communicate the Master Project Schedule and manage its implementation.
  • Work with preconstruction team in development of timely project start up
  • Manage budget and financial reporting, interpret, and analyze reports to ensure adherence to project budget.
  • Utilize and incorporate project management software.
  • Manage the project Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program.
  • Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee and pricing decisions.
  • Understand, comply, and advise others on Doyon\xe2\x80\x99s business ethics and compliance programs.
  • Demonstrate high standard of persona, professional accountability and integrity. Mentor staff to the same high standards.
  • Manage and oversee project field operations and engineering processes and procedures.
  • Drive competencies to team on requirements for insurance, labor relations, and employee relations.
  • Drive enforcement of safety protocols by the project staff.
  • Work with Finance to initiate the Pay Application process and follow up to ensure payment is received in a timely manner.
  • Keep management informed on project and budget progress through regularly scheduled WIP and project review meetings.
  • Support and drive utilization of various Doyon initiatives. Promote and utilize emerging technologies and innovations to support Doyon\xe2\x80\x99s sustainable competitive advantages.
  • Provide leadership to foster an environment of diversity and inclusion.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Extensive knowledge of established construction practices, procedures, and techniques as well as applicable local, state, and federal building codes
  • Managerial experience
  • Ability to interpret and analyze project financials data, profit, and loss
  • Ability to adapt and use project management software
  • Ability to produce a complete project estimate
  • Ability to write an effective proposal, write highly complex reports and persuasive business correspondence and understand such reports and correspondence when received from other sources
  • Ability to professionally and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline-oriented
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and construction instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required in Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years direct Project Management experience in commercial, civil, or federal government projects
  • Experience working on U.S. Navy (NAVFAC), Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), or USAFB federal contracts.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles.
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite of programs and scheduling software.
  • Critical Path Method Scheduling experience.
  • Advanced presentation skills.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
  • Certification: OSHA 30, CPR-First Aid safety, EM-385-1-1 and Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQMC) certification or ability to obtain certification
SALARY RANGE: $120,000 - $150,000

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The employee is subject to varied environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside. The majority of the work is performed in a jobsite office and professional office setting; however regular and frequent activities must be performed at a project jobsite. All activities require interfacing with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities, as well as with both professional and non-professional backgrounds.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing up to forty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Travel Required.
