The Primary Therapist is responsible for providing therapeutic interventions to our clients. You will be responsible for providing individual, family, and group therapy, as well as crisis intervention and consultation services. You will also be expected to collaborate with other staff members to ensure that our clients receive the best care possible. Duties & Responsibilities for a Primary Therapist:

\xc2\xb7 Directs counseling activities in accord with directions from the Program Director, or designee.

\xc2\xb7 Coordinates alcohol and drug abuse treatment services with the Program Director, or designee.

\xc2\xb7 Reports all alleged incidents of abuse or neglect in accordance with all state standards and accrediting bodies.

\xc2\xb7 Ensures that all records are accurate and timely in accordance to OBH policies.

\xc2\xb7 Ensures that all records are available for all state and accrediting bodies staff inspection.

\xc2\xb7 Initiates social service assessments of clients, including gathering social histories and other required treatment documentation.

\xc2\xb7 Provides and communicates aftercare recommendations to clients, family members, and the Continuum of Care department.

\xc2\xb7 Ensures that all relevant information is provided to the client, the parents or managing conservator of the client on a regular basis and at least weekly.

\xc2\xb7 Coordinates with the Program Director to insure consistency of treatment.

\xc2\xb7 Conducts intakes and screenings on potential clients.

\xc2\xb7 Be responsible for the development of client treatment plans.

\xc2\xb7 Creates discharge summaries and aftercare recommendations.

\xc2\xb7 Facilitates groups and lectures for clients.

\xc2\xb7 Conduct individual counseling sessions on a regular basis and at least weekly for clients on caseload.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for client case management issues as they may relate to delivery of substance abuse treatment.

\xc2\xb7 Attends staff meetings as scheduled and as needed.

\xc2\xb7 Protects client\'s rights.

\xc2\xb7 Uphold all Origins Behavioral HealthCare Policies and Procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain client/potential client confidentiality in accordance with Origins\' Policy.

Requirements:

Education/Experience/Qualifications for Primary Therapist:

\xc2\xb7 Master\'s degree preferred; or

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s degree with three (3) years experience and/or State Certification required.

\xc2\xb7 At least one (1) year experience working in substance abuse treatment facility required.

\xc2\xb7 Work experience in 12-step emersion program preferred.

\xc2\xb7 If in recovery, two (2) years of continuous sobriety preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities for Primary Therapist:

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge, experience and competence in the specific areas of adult treatment, adult co-morbid complications, and family systems theory.

\xc2\xb7 Must be computer literate and be familiar with most Microsoft products and network components.

\xc2\xb7 Must have fluid communication skills that foster teamwork and high morale.

\xc2\xb7 Must possess a high degree of organization skills.

\xc2\xb7 Must be thoroughly familiar and be able to demonstrate knowledge of the principles and programs of the various 12-step fellowships.

Competence/Measurements for Primary Therapist:

\xc2\xb7 Compliance with strategic plan set forth \xe2\x80\x93 documentation/observation.

\xc2\xb7 Family, referral and patient satisfaction \xe2\x80\x93 documentation/interviews.

\xc2\xb7 Compliance with all state standards and accrediting bodies \xe2\x80\x93 documentation.

\xc2\xb7 Assure that all quality indicators are met \xe2\x80\x93 monthly documentation.
