Qualifications

The PHP Primary Therapist assists in the bio-psychosocial assessment, case management and treatment of patients under the supervision of the Partial Hospitalization Clinical Supervisor. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, activities of daily living and communication with referral sources and families. Discharge planning, facilitate group therapy, facilitate family sessions, interagency meeting, maintain progress notes, group notes, develop treatment plans and treatment plan updates, and attend staff meeting, treatment team meetings and clinical supervision.

Education: Masters Degree in Psychology or related field.

Experience: One year experience working with a psychiatric patient population preferred. Age/population specific experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification: None. Clinical licensure in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania preferred.

Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of group therapy theory and practice, group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, addictions issues, limit settings and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors and CPR Training.

Experience with evidence based training, trauma informed training, individual therapy and case management.

Job Specific Responsibilities: Performs and appropriately documents a comprehensive psychosocial assessment on assigned PHP patient within required timeframe.
