Job Description


Position Summary: The Payroll Clerk will review and oversee the employee timekeeping system. They will communicate with field supervisors and management regarding issues and errors. Other responsibilities include daily review of GPS, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating payrolls by performing the following duties.
Essential Job Functions

  • Create daily GPS summary reports.
  • Review and compare timecards and GPS daily for accuracy and notify management of any issues.
  • Notify management daily of any unexcused absences for prior day.
  • Create the weekly attendance spreadsheet summary and add notes to personnel files.
  • Weekly conversations with management to resolve any outstanding issues on timecards.
  • Complete timecard cleanup by Wednesday each week.
  • Mail and file weekly certified payroll reports.
  • Review, track, and enforce policies related to GPS speeding and idle alerts.
  • Download weekly logbooks from GPS.
  • Review, email, and file violations of breaks, JSA, signatures, and modifications of timecards.
  • Completion of terminated employee checklist.
  • Recording of PTO request.
  • Update and maintain employee records.
  • Assist with training arrangements, holiday parties, and team outings.
  • Enforce company goals and policies.
  • Develop an understanding of when management should be kept informed and given the opportunity to offer exceptions.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associates or bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related field.
  • Previous experience in accounting, payroll, or Human Resources, preferred.
  • Valid Drivers License.

Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, use hand to finger, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to indoor conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
