Insight Surgical Hospital is a small, friendly and minimally invasive surgical center and clinic with patient services second to none! We are proud of our fast-paced, patient-focused, team-oriented environment with professionals in neurology, orthopedics, pain management, chiropractic, gastroenterology, podiatry specialties and more. Every member of our team is crucial to the patient experience and our success! Our Hospital and Clinic do not treat general illnesses, including COVID-19, and has required health safety measures in place for everyone prior to entering the facility, including temperature and symptom checks, required PPE and other health hygiene measures.

Job Summary:

Our compassionate, empathetic and enthusiastic Patient Services Associate (PSA) aims to maximize every patient experience and identifies areas of improvement, concerning both clinical and administrative processes. The Patient Services Associate wears many hats in the department through assisting patients with activities of daily living, assisting the administrative team with our boarding processes and OR Schedules, helping support Preference card activities, helping complete patient identification information, and proactively assisting with the flow of our smooth unit operations. Our Patient Services Associate candidate has several years of hands-on experience with patients with demonstrable experience navigating through policies and administrative processes, including scheduling surgeries.

Duties of Patient Services Associate:

  • Demonstrates superior patient and family care at all times
  • Helps cultivate a friendly, respectful and approachable atmosphere for patients and coworkers
  • Assists Unit Clerk and Surgical Services Coordinator with administrative duties as assigned
  • Performs surgery scheduling duties as directed by Surgical Services Coordinator
  • Performs CNA duties as assigned
  • Proactively responds to patient requests promptly and appropriately
  • Scan and upload medical documents and electronic medical record system as needed
  • Identifies, communicates, trouble shoots, and escalates concerns or issues to Manager as necessary
  • May arrange discharges according to policy and upholds communication through appropriate parties
  • Maintains unit operations by following policies and procedures; reports needed changes.
  • Monitors unit supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies
  • Answers and coordinates patient questions
  • Supports staff and patients through clerical and receptionist duties as needed
  • Coordinates preference cards as needed
  • Supports Surgical Boarding Processes and helps coordinate OR Schedules as directed by designated supervisor
Qualifications of Patient Services Associate:
  • Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent required
  • Associate\'s Degree preferred, or a form of Medical Certification is a plus
  • 3+ years of direct patient care experience
  • 2+ years of administrative experience through supporting patients
  • Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills are required along with outstanding customer service skills.
  • Exhibits professional and positive image when interacting with others
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment while maintaining positive energy.
  • Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement.
  • Able to work compassionately with patients and coworkers to exhibit patient care second to none
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and drive.
