Outside Sales Representative
to join our team and accelerate our next stage of expansion.
Position Overview
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving profitable sales growth by identifying new opportunities, expanding customer relationships, and promoting USI's industry-leading composite repair and protective coating solutions.
This role is ideal for a motivated sales professional who thrives in industrial environments, understands maintenance and reliability challenges, and loves providing engineered solutions that truly make a difference.
What You'll Do
Grow Revenue
Achieve and exceed quarterly/annual revenue goals.
Develop strategies that prioritize high-margin opportunities across USI's product lines.
Maximize sales through cross-selling, upselling, and strategic account development.
Develop New Markets & Accounts
Identify, qualify, and close new business across manufacturing, utilities, municipalities, energy, pipeline, and contractor markets.
Conduct on-site plant visits, assessments, and solution-focused presentations.
Build strong, multi-level relationships with engineering, maintenance, reliability, and procurement teams.
Solution-Based Industrial Selling
Learn USI's composite repair and protective coating systems in detail (training provided).
Partner with our technical team to diagnose equipment and facility issues.
Provide demonstrations, training, and project support to customers and field teams.
Manage Pipeline & Forecasting
Maintain a strong pipeline with accurate CRM updates.
Provide reliable forecasts and track performance metrics.
Use data to refine customer targeting and territory strategy.
Collaborate & Represent USI
Coordinate with marketing to execute targeted campaigns and customer outreach.
Attend industry events, trade shows, conferences, and local networking opportunities.
Build strong partnerships with manufacturers, contractors, and distributors.
What Success Looks Like
Meeting or surpassing all revenue and margin goals.
Opening new accounts in priority verticals.
Building long-term customer relationships that drive recurring business.
Becoming a trusted advisor to customers through technical understanding and problem-solving.
Qualifications
Required
3-7+ years of B2B industrial sales experience.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn engineered products.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Willingness to travel 40-60% of the time.
CRM proficiency and disciplined pipeline management.
Preferred
Experience with composite repair systems, industrial coatings, corrosion protection, or mechanical maintenance.
Existing relationships in manufacturing, oil & gas, chemical processing, food & beverage, or municipal markets.
AMPP/NACE or related certifications (a plus but not required).
