Jefferson Solutions, the government consulting company of Jefferson Consulting Group, a well-respected, woman-owned small business in Washington, D.C. seeks highly qualified individual to serve as Communications Specialist for the upcoming National Institutes of Health (NIH) DEIA Office opportunity.

The National Institutes of Health Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) initiative articulates NIH\xe2\x80\x99s vision for embracing, strengthening, and integrating DEIA principles across all NIH activities. NIH\xe2\x80\x99s highest DEIA priorities are in three overarching Objectives that encompass NIH\xe2\x80\x99s operations, workforce, and research.

Desired Qualities

  • Expertise in effectively managing projects for large federal government entities with more than 30,000 staff
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience developing, implementing, and tracking
DEIA-related strategic plans, activities, and accomplishments within a large research organization
  • Expertise in working with diverse populations including those from underrepresented groups and underserved communities impacted by DEIA-related issues (e.g., Black/African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Latino/Hispanic, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander)
  • Demonstrated experience in the field of organizational change and organizational development
  • Expertise in human capital management, change management, and racial equity systems change approaches
  • Demonstrated, strong commitment to equity and justice in multiple areas: race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, income, religion, etc.
  • A proven record of accomplishment as a change agent, working with organizations to internalize and implement racial equity and justice lens and values
  • Expert knowledge of federal laws, governmental systems, and statutory, regulatory, and executive requirements (particularly related to DEIA); how these inform a federal agency\xe2\x80\x99s work; and how to appropriately address these through strategic planning and reporting activities
Qualifications:

Minimum requirement is a bachelor\'s degree and 5 years\' experience in strategic communications role for a large multifaceted organization.
