Job Description


POSITION PURPOSE

Manage and coordinate the placement, design, and execution of marketing initiatives on property. Supports: Group, Leisure, Corporate, social catering & Weddings, (Field Marketing) and Restaurant(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Managing and Coordinating marketing initiatives for above segments in an organized and proactive manner.
    • Managing Monthly marketing calendar
    • Manage Public Relations Efforts with PR firm
    • Manage media marketing efforts and campaigns
    • Prepare for Owners Marketing Meetings
    • Managing Field Marketing efforts
    • Assist with Creation of Annual Sales & Marketing Plan
    • Plan for expiration dates on marketing initiatives \xe2\x80\x93 pull prior to expiration (website, elevator, guest rooms and restaurants and be prepared with next initiative)
    • Implement approval process for all marketing initiatives \xe2\x80\x93 design and content with Department head and approval at EOC level \xe2\x80\x93 when possible
    • Work with requesting department on creating in house designs when possible
    • Implement 3 bid process on all print marketing collateral with final approval at EOC level
    • Demonstrate ability to multi task and have strong time management skills
  • Managing relationships and communication with Strategic Partners
  • Coordinating-negotiations with design firm regarding advertisement/collateral design and placement.
  • Maintain and update all website content with quarterly review with department heads for input
  • Maintain and update all Social Media efforts with media marketing partner - campaign and strategize with EOC levels on biweekly social media campaign
  • Manage all Email blasts and data collection.
  • Ensure outlets have sufficient stock of current collateral.
  • Manage advertising contracts, budgets and coding of invoices in a timely manner
Other: Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel:
  • Attend and coordinate on-premise and off-premise events, food shows, workshops, etc\xe2\x80\xa6
  • Attend and coordinate potential client property site visits.
  • Perform other duties as required in an effort to assist any other department on property

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Social Media tools.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand spreadsheets and performing cost analysis.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Strong project management or organizational skills
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Digg, Youtube, Twitter, Flickr etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios
  • Knowledge of blogging ecosystem relevant to the Company\xe2\x80\x99s field
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format, and build and maintain relationships
  • Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other departments when necessary
  • Good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly
  • Have a good knowledge of principles of SEO
  • Public relations, Marketing, Sales, Community Management experience, a plus
Preferred Skills The following skills are not necessary yet will greatly improve the strength of the individual:
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, i.e., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat.
  • Graphic design and layout experience
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and javascript.

Physical Demands

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by resort environmental systems.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other departments of the resort on a timely basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.
Grooming All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per company\'s standards. Attendance: Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the company from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education: High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of two years experience as a marketing manager, coordinator, or similar and Hotel marketing experience strongly preferred.

Licenses or Certificates Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
