Position Description:

Chavez Radio Group (CRG), a network of 11 radio stations concentrated in the Southwestern states of the U.S. that are owned and operated by the Cesar Chavez Foundation (CCF), is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to serve as the primary organizer of our network-wide marketing and community outreach efforts. This position reports to the Programming & Brand Management Director (PD) and, in conjunction with local station staff, is responsible for the coordinated execution of a marketing & community outreach strategy that promotes our brands and meets specific benchmark metrics.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the PD in the development of a marketing and community outreach strategy that increases brand awareness, ratings, social media following, and creates a closer relationship with the communities we serve.
  • Operationalizes the established strategy at the network and local market levels and coordinates all efforts.
  • Works closely with content development staff to establish and create messaging and content that is in alignment organizational values, brand identity, and to create marketing materials as needed.
  • Assist with social media profile management.
  • Analyzes local market performance of the implemented strategy and provide recommend optimizations.
  • Report to upper management on strategy performance.
  • Work closely with local station staff to develop strategic community partnerships and outreach benchmarks.
  • Coordinates production of marketing materials and advertisements.
  • Establish reporting processes on local station marketing efforts, trade usage, and promotional activities.
  • Assist with the copywriting and production of on-air promotions, promo spots, and other content as needed.
  • Serves as a public relations official for CRG as guided by CCF leadership and upper management and drafts public communications such as press releases, op-ed pieces, and letters to the editor among others.
  • Development of media and marketing training for local and network staff.
  • May need to complete other duties as assigned by the PD on an as-needed basis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree in marketing, communications or other related field or equivalent work experience in those fields on a year-per-year basis.
  • An understanding of television, radio, digital and print media marketing strategies as well as full marketing mix across paid, owned, and earned channels.
  • Understanding of relationship building and/or community engagement.
  • Strong communications skills, both verbally and written, in English and Spanish. Ability to be a concise speaker, storyteller, and writer; distilling a narrative from a complex data set into an executive summary.
  • Ability to work adeptly in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Exceptional prioritization, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Adept at working in a fast-paced environment and successfully juggling multiple assignments at once with tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter and ability to build initiatives from scratch.
Preferences:
  • Passion for service and community building.
  • Basic knowledge of Cesar Chavez s work, history, and founded organizations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (minimally) as needed.
  • Experience in brand-building initiatives, including (but not limited to) creating highly engaging digital experiences, community engagement and/or team management.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically; a mix of high-level strategy and planning and on-the-ground tactical execution is required to be successful in this role.

The CCF Communications Fund, known as Chavez Radio Group, has a mission is to promote Cesar\'s legacy by urging people to take action, motivating them to use the resources available to them, and inspiring them to be active in their own communities.

Our daily work is dedicated to uplifting and inspiring all those who engage with our brands via the various platforms and serve as a beacon of hope for a better future for Latinos across the U.S. The CCF offers various services that support low-income households and Latino communities through our Housing, Education, and Communications Funds. We have completed over 300 single-family homes, built or renovated over 5,000 affordable multi-family unites across four states, served over 20,000 students in more than 150 school districts, own and operate 11 radio stations, and help educate or inform over 1M English and Spanish language radio listeners in rural and urban areas.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation will depend on experience and qualifications.

All CCF employees receive medical, dental, and vision coverage with no monthly premium deduction to the employee and qualifying dependents, retirement savings options with company match depending on years of employment, 10 paid holidays and accrual of sick and vacation time that increases with time employed. For full-time active employees outside of California, they also receive company covered short-term disability, long-term disability, and basic life insurance coverage at twice your annual pay.

Work Location:

This position is based in Phoenix, Arizona but may need to work remotely at from one of our other markets in California, Nevada, or Georgia for short periods of time which do not normally exceed one week and average 1-2 nights.

If an offer for employment is made to any candidate, they must provide proof of their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination within 30 days of employment and proof of a second dose within 60 days, no exemptions accepted. In certain cases, depending on the working conditions of a position s location and especially when job responsibilities include interaction with the public, the CCF maintains the right to not allow a candidate to begin employment until proof of full vaccination has been completed. At the current time, a booster vaccination is not required but highly encouraged.
