Position Title: Communications &Marketing Coordinator Supervisor: Public Relations & Communications Manager Classification: Full time Exempt Last Updated: April 14th, 2023 Compensation: $36,250 POSITION CONCEPT: This position is responsible for advancing the mission and brand of the Center by project coordinating the creation of programs for performances, supporting the communications and marketing team in executing and tracking department activities, supporting public relations and marketing plans, and other special projects as assigned. The ideal candidate is a team player, has strong written and verbal communication skills, has experience in the stated areas, and is extremely detail-oriented and organized. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Communication & Marketing Efforts & Support:

  • Under the supervision of the Public Relations & Communications Manager, collect material from, and collaborate with, various departments on the creation of performance programs, which may include, but not be limited to: setting and coordinating deadlines, creating publication plans with printer, assembling materials and copy, creating copy, proofreading and submitting for proofreading by others, and finalizing counts and delivery with printer.
  • Under the supervision of the Public Relations & Communications Manager, develop, schedule, write, and execute patron emails and surveys.
  • Proofread copy as assigned.
  • Under the supervision of the Public Relations & Communications Manager, develop unique and original social media content and schedule for distribution on Midland Center social media accounts.
  • Project manage across departments as assigned within our project management tracking software, ASANA.
  • Submit, file, and track advertising invoices.
  • Manage promotions and ticket giveaways as assigned, coordinating outreach, execution, and follow up.
  • Collaborate with interns to schedule the distribution of flyers, posters, and other collateral material throughout the community.
  • Support media relations efforts by collecting assets to develop communication materials for media outlets and social media.
  • Provide technical support for photo and video shoots, event-related initiatives and events, including identifying and staffing off-site community outreach events as assigned.
  • In collaboration with other team members, manage and execute sales and marketing strategy.
  • Uphold the values of the Center, including aiding in a collaborative and welcoming environment.
  • Follow all Center policies as outlined in the handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Marketing/Project Management
  • Be/become proficient in project management software, ASANA. Assist as needed to organize projects in the system. Maintain this proficiency.
  • Be/become proficient in Wordfly and Survey Monkey, and other software necessary for the success of the department. Maintain this proficiency.
  • Project manage creation of performance programs.
  • Be/become knowledgeable on all of the Center\xe2\x80\x99s current programming and exhibits. Stay up to date on all changes.
  • Attend programs/events to provide input and analysis on the Center\xe2\x80\x99s practices and to stay current with what is offered in the industry.
Work Schedule
  • Available and willing to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, daytime into evening based on the events scheduled and marketing department requirements.
Preferred/Required Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Education:
  • BA or Associate\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in marketing , communications or public relations preferred, but not required.
\xc2\xb7 Experience:
  • Two or more years of experience in project management preferred.
  • Two or more years in a public relations support positions or higher level, preferred.
\xc2\xb7 Skills required:
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Excellent proofreading skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills required.
  • Outstanding computer skills, including experience with utilizing databases.
  • Good working knowledge of public relations concepts and best practices.
  • Experience with social media platforms.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
OTHER:
  • Advanced Excel skills including facility with charts and Pivot tables preferred
  • Experience in print management a plus.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • All staff, interns, on-site contractors, and volunteers are required to be vaccinated against Covid-19. Proof will be required prior to hire.
