About the role:

We are looking for an analytically oriented Manager to join our company and work within our client service team on research and consulting engagements with some of the largest and most well-known technology companies in the world. Prior experience with B2B research a plus.

As a Manager, you will lead projects end-to-end, defining key business objectives, to designing the research approach, to analyzing data and presenting findings. As you get opportunities to build relationships with our most important clients, we want you to ultimately become the person they think about when they think about Known. You will be expected to ensure that our clients have an amazing experience and reinforce our relationship with them as trusted and valued partners.

You will also be part of a collaborative team that includes peers at your level, as well as early-career researchers to support you during projects and who will look to you for mentorship. You will be well-supported as you develop as a Manager, reporting to a Director who is first and foremost your brainstorming partner and collaborator - for client projects and for your career.

Your Responsibilities Include:
  • Overall project management and ownership.
  • Developing research plans and designs (e.g., questionnaires and surveys).
  • Statistical analysis of data with commonly used software (Excel, SPSS/SAS, Q, R, and Python).
  • Interpreting data to understand the business implications of the research.
  • Writing reports and presenting them to clients in a way that is engaging and persuasive.
  • Coordination with outside vendors for fieldwork management, data tabulations, and analysis - you would help define their work plans and ensure that they deliver as specified and with high quality.
WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU HAVE
  • 4-5 years of quantitative experience at a research firm, consulting agency, or similar company, with specific passion and background in technology.
  • Experience in supporting B2B clients is a plus (but not required).
  • Superb communication, narrative-building, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to think strategically, analytically, and proactively about diverse business problems. Experience in making appropriate research recommendations for business problems.
  • Have worked in collaborative environments and enjoy working as part of a team. Experience in mentoring or managing early-career colleagues in a prior role is a plus.
  • Fluency in talking about strategic marketing problems, a practical understanding of what our clients are trying to achieve, and you have the technical experience to know how best to approach these problems.
  • Specific examples include:
  • Early-stage market opportunity assessment Customer segmentation (e.g., using Latent Class Clustering) and needs assessment
  • Feature/needs prioritization to support product development (e.g., using MaxDiff, TURF analysis)
  • Pricing/Packaging/Product Portfolio optimization (e.g., using Conjoint)
  • Path-to-Purchase research
  • Value Proposition development
  • Positioning and Messaging research
  • Brand Tracking and/or Media Tracking research
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Passion for managing the quality & accuracy of research instruments (e.g., surveys) and analytics, including checking your and others\' work.
  • Experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced - and fast-growing - small company or professional services/consulting firm environment is a plus (but not required)
  • Experience in a statistical package like SPSS, SAS, Q, or experience in R and Python are a plus (but not required)

The base salary for this position is $90K - $110K.

This range is posted in compliance with state and municipal Pay Transparency laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to receive additional Known benefits.
