Job Summary: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating vessel shipments with operations, customers, and vessel companies in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner for the Great Lakes Region. The Logistics Coordinator will work in tandem daily with Supply, Operations, Quality, and other functional groups, as required, to ensure the product arrives to the customer in a timely manner. This position will be part of team that covers shipping operations 24/7 April through December so nights, weekends, holidays, and on call time is required.

Responsibilities:

• Scheduling outbound deliveries on the Great Lakes for approximately 19M tons annually.
• Participate in production planning to ensure shipment execution.
• Responsible for data entry to complete billing process and some payable processes.
• Maintain various sales/shipping reports.
• Participation in conference calls, meetings with internal and external contacts as required.
• Travel is occasionally expected for customers, Vessel Company, and internal logistics meetings.
  • Travel will include destinations in Canada; therefore, a passport is required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Aggregate, industrial minerals and/or mining experience a plus and must achieve certification as an MDOT aggregate technician.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Interpersonal skills consistent with a team environment required.
• Logistics experience is a plus.
