About the Job

As a Link Building & Digital PR Specialist, you will work as part of the Retirement Living Content team, a ConsumerAffairs brand, at the intersection of SEO, PR, and brand-building. You will be responsible for promoting industry-leading content that informs, delights, and inspires target audiences. This role focuses primarily on SEO link building with ties to traditional PR. You will focus on increasing the authority of the brand\xe2\x80\x99s website by securing links, citations, and mentions from relevant, authoritative sources. To do this successfully, you will focus on building and maintaining relationships with relevant publishers, journalists, influencers, and industry experts to promote our content and build exposure for the brand.

You will take ownership of your ideas, champion your projects and be willing to try new tactics to achieve our goals. You will determine what makes content \xe2\x80\x9coutreach-able\xe2\x80\x9d and worthy of high-quality, relevant coverage.

We are looking for a Link Building and Digital PR Specialist with an understanding of SEO basics and a more advanced understanding of outreach strategy. The ideal candidate has a strong sense of what\xe2\x80\x99s happening in the industry and a desire to constantly learn, collect trending insights, and take on new challenges. They work well in a fast-paced team environment, are motivated by aggressive goal setting, and enjoy creating rewarding relationships with the people they work with.

Digital PR Strategy & Execution

  • Create unique, creative outreach messages to journalists, website owners/admins, bloggers, etc. via email and social media.
  • Use outreach tools to research and evaluate relevant websites that may be willing to link to our website or mention our brands on their platforms.
  • Manage and develop key relationships with journalism contacts (writers, editors, marketers, etc.) to identify additional opportunities for collaboration.
  • Research industry trends, news, and digital marketing best practices, and use the data to develop strategy
  • Maintain and grow a comprehensive database of media contacts.
  • Monitor and report competitor activity and relevant industry trends, events, and opportunities to appropriate teams.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Credentials
  • BA in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field
  • 2+ years of hands-on outreach and digital PR experience
  • Experience in link building or similar roles (e.g., sales prospecting, managing email lists/outreach, administrative tasks, etc.).
  • Strong written and persuasive communication skills - mastery of the English language is key
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage details, efficient work habits, and overall flexibility
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment along with the ability to accept interruptions as part of the routine
  • Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives and a willingness to take on additional responsibility
Hard/Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of digital PR and link building tools such as Buzzstream (or other contact management system like Outreach.io), Buzzsumo, Meltwater, Cision, Muckrack, and Ahrefs.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Google Analytics, Excel/Google Sheets, and marketing reporting platforms.

  • Identify link-worthy content within growth verticals and collaborate with SEO and content in Q3
  • Build and contribute to a comprehensive database of media contacts by the end of Q3
  • Meet defined link goals consistently by Q4
  • Pitch ideas for new link-building strategies worthy of digital PR campaigns, working with ConsumerAffairs and Retirement Living writing, editing, and research staff.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
  • Location: Remote/ Tulsa
  • Frequency of travel: Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training and/or conferences.
