Overview of the Role

The role of the Intake Specialist/Data Clerk is to provide accurate and timely data entry and reporting for the Department of Aging and Community Living Programs (DACL) funded programs. The Intake Specialist/Data Clerk will also enroll clients in programs and direct clients to points of contact within the organization for further assistance. This position is contingent upon continued grant funding.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Enrolls and conducts intake assessments of new participants as needed.
  • Maintains database by entering new and updating participants\' information.
  • Provides support to all departments to ensure data is captured accurately and completely.
  • Ensures that all Intakes and Nutrition Screenings are up to date as required by DACL.
  • Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information.
  • Provides reports as requested.
  • Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Verifies participants\' data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects data by keeping information confidential.
  • Assists with participation in community events and coordinates transportation activities for the agency.
  • Answers telephone and website inquiries and direct calls to appropriate staff or outside agencies.
  • Performed other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or 5 years of data experience. A.A. degree preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, including very good working knowledge of key software.
  • Very good understanding of basic IT operations; ability to master the DCOA C-Stars system.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be sensitive to and understand the needs of older adults.
Work Environment: Standard office environment
Equipment Used: PC/laptop, computer printer, office copier, camera, telephone, facsimile machine, shredder, and typical office equipment.
