The Division of Personnel Management, Bureau of Human Resources (BHR), Region 2 is currently recruiting to fill a Human Resources Assistant position at either the entry or Advanced level. This position will be part of a dedicated team for the recruitment and selection of Correctional Officers for the Department of Corrections (DOC) and can be headquartered at any DOC facility or office Statewide. Headquartered location will be determined with the supervisor upon appointment.

Position Summary





This position performs general talent acquisition tasks including certification processes and procedures, appointment processes including data entry, processing criminal background checks, and assisting with job posting management and associated applicant contact. The HR Assistant also provides support to BHR Human Resources Specialists, provides back up to other BHR Human Resources Assistants, and assists in general administrative duties of the Bureau.

Salary Information





Starting salary is between $22.00 and $27.00 per hour; plus, excellent benefits. Salary for current or former state employees will be determined in accordance with the current Wisconsin Compensation Plan. The entry level is in pay scheule and range 81-05 and the Advanced level is in 81-04. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Region 2 will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Qualifications






Minimally qualified applicants will have training and/or experience:
  • Communicating information such as policies, procedures, etc. to customers
  • Creating or managing reports, spreadsheets, memos, etc. utilizing various computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Providing administrative support (maintaining files and/or records, drafting correspondence, assembling materials, etc.)

In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience:
  • Performing recruitment and selection activities such as coordinating interviews, creating/auditing position descriptions, and processing hiring documents.
