The State Accounting Division with the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is looking for a Fiscal & Policy Analyst Senior to join our team!

As a Fiscal & Policy Analyst Senior you will assist in developing and using components of the ERP system and as well as review business needs and recommendations for best practices. This position will also be relied on to test, implement and provide on-going support and coordination between users.

The Fiscal & Policy Analyst Senior will be expected to develop expert technical knowledge of how numerous components of the ERP system works, including an understanding of the ERP system and how the numerous functionalities interrelate and work with the ERP team to develop, conduct and participate in classes on how to use various features of the ERP system for all users of this system.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of complex data sets to support recommendations and approvals
  • Monitor and analyze state and federal legislative and policy proposals for fiscal and operational impacts
  • Assist departments in developing and using certain components of the ERP system, including reviewing SAE/HRE and department business needs and concerns, recommending adoption of best practices and develops overall knowledge of the many components of this system.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree or higher in Accounting, Public Administration, Math, or Finance
  • Proficient in data analysis tools such as excel using Pivot Tables and VLookup, R, Python, and other programming languages
  • Skill in analyzing complex problems
  • Ability to analyze data and information, draw conclusions, and make recommendations Bachelor\'s degree in business or related degree from an accredited college or university AND one year work experience in a position equivalent. other programming languages

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification: * Seven years of full-time professional-level work experience in budget analysis, financial management, accounting, law, or management analysis work.
  • All of the following (a, b, and c):
  • One year of full-time professional-level work experience in budget analysis, financial management, accounting, law, or management analysis work; and
  • A total of four years of education and full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience; and
  • A total of two years of graduate-level education and full-time experience (as described in part a), where twenty-four semester hours of accredited graduate college or university course work in public or business administration, law, economics, finance, or accounting equals one year of full-time experience.
