GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this position is to provide instruction in the WSP vocational education programs, and primarily work with inmates teaching them basic computer skills and earning college credits through Central Wyoming College. This position will also develop a curriculum and build vocational education programs.

  • Researches the latest training resource material to develop course curriculum, lesson plans, and other training materials needed to teach activities and objectives; develops individual program plans.
  • Performs training needs assessment using job analysis, employee surveys, interviews, and other special techniques to determine training effectiveness, identify training needs and establish specific learning objectives.
  • Develops program methodologies, revisions, and monthly reports.
  • Completes and evaluates monthly progress reports on identified objectives and activities.
  • Plans organize and schedule times, dates, facilities, and locations for training workshops.
  • Administers standardized tests and functional assessments.
  • Develops and implements specialized program methodologies/data collection systems.
  • Provides for promotion, notification, registration, and collection of fees for training programs.
Qualifications

PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor\'s Degree, PLUS one (1) year of progressive work experience in Education or Instruction; OR five (5) years of progressive work experience in Education or Instruction.

**Candidate must be able to provide proof of five plus years of experience with Microsoft programs and/or certificates of completed coursework

KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge of basic instructional and training procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of behavior management principles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor\'s Degree (typically in Education)

Experience:

0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Vocational Trainer

OR

Education & Experience Substitution:

3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Vocational Trainer

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Candidate may be required to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk on a concrete floor for long periods.
  • Pre-Service Training is required

  • This position must pass a background check.
