Smyth Industries Electrical Division is currently searching for an individual with Water Infrastructure Industry experience as an
Electrical Control Panel Builder
to help enhance our current team. We provide full-service electrical, civil, manufacturing, engineering and general contracting services for the water and reclamation industry.

In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in the water and reclamation industry by:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Read and interpret electrical schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.
Complete layout and assembly of high/low voltage and control components and circuitry.
Dimension and layout of back panels and enclosures.
Routing and bundling of wire and cables neatly to meet wiring standards.
Complete point to point wiring of motor starters/drives, relays, controls, interfaces, and instrumentation.
Install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering or other power tool-type equipment.
Communicate effectively with all team members, builders, electricians, client representatives, engineers, and project managers.
Meet deadlines under pressure.
Demonstrate an understanding of electrical loads, short circuit current rating (SCCR), and equipment specifications.
Coordinate purchasing of electrical parts.
Complete documentation of control panel builds procedures.
Contribute to QAQC testing and documentation of control panels and associated equipment.
Customer support for existing equipment, troubleshooting, upgrades, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.
Perform field installation of control cabinets including terminating field wiring when needed
Minimum Qualifications
1 year of experience with construction and/or operation of industrial control panels or other electrical experience.
Skilled in the use of measuring, diagnostic, and hand tools.
Knowledgeable in NEC (National Electrical Code).
Knowledgeable in the requirements of UL 508A standard.
Knowledgeable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
Self-motivated, task-oriented, leader.
Required to possess a valid driver's license and legally be able to operate a company vehicle.
Required to pass a preemployment drug screening.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Must be able to physically perform all required duties which may include bending, lifting 50-pound objects, carrying 50-pound items, squatting, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, working outdoors most of the time, or standing for prolonged periods of time.
Required to wear company supplied Personal Protective Equipment.
The applicant should be comfortable working around industrial equipment.
Knowledgeable reading and connecting field wiring using ladder drawings.
Knowledgeable using HART loop calibration and process meter simulation.
Knowledgeable in troubleshooting with DMM, frequency generator, phase rotation meters, Megger, etc. equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience building electrical control panels/electrical experience.
Proficient in the application of the UL508A standard.
UL 508A Manufacturer's Technical Representative Certification.
Strong knowledge in water reclamation and/or construction.
Bilingual: Spanish.
Knowledgeable reading and connecting field wiring using ladder drawings.
Knowledgeable using HART loop calibration and process meter simulation.
Knowledgeable in troubleshooting with DMM, frequency generator, phase rotation meters, Megger, etc. equipment.
Proficient in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
Proficient in AutoCAD or other drafting/design software.
Proficient in Bluebeam.
